During the transition from the lateral to the carry, I don’t like to pick up the kettlebells THEN turn. I would suggest turning so you are looking down the lane and then picking up the kettlebells. Might only save you a second or 2 but that could make a difference.

This video helped me get a 594 on the ACFT. Your advice on the SDC was solid! I finally got it after 3 years of trying. Thank you Sir!

Thank you for this. My last ACFT was embarrassing. I passed, but I was mad because the one before was much better. I'd like to share these because for us guardsmen reservists, we need these tips in our personal PT plans.

Glad it helps! I know you guys don’t get as much instruction or guidance, not as often as us active dudes anyways…

@GrittySoldier It is what it is. I definitely miss working out on active because it was literally part of your job lol. Love the content brother!

You are so spot on about rucking. Training for the Norwegian foot march has made the farmer carry of the SDC so easier for me.

Thanks Sir, my time tends to always sit at about a 1:33 which gets me 99 points every. single. time. With these tips, hopefully I can break through that boundary and max it out. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into researching and practicing these skills to help educate the community

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for making these kinds of videos. I enlisted in the Army National Guard a little over a month ago and I’m trying to train the best I can before BCT and be the best I can be! Thanks again!

Absolutely man! Glad you’re getting some merging from them! 💪

Not gonna lie, I feel like most soldiers normally waste all their energy on the first sprint. I've seen so many soldiers booking the first sprint and then get to the drag and slow down drastically just because of it. I normally leave the full sprint for the last sprint to save some energy for the drag that I know I struggle the most with. Good video! This is great info for all of us!

My age is 44 I was never in Army but intending to enlist with the national guard reserves. I have joined ACFT today to add the records on my file I followed your advice and get 2:03 min the hardest was the drag i believe more leg training is needed your video help thank you

Thank you for this sir! I am in ROTC and I am an SMP member(I started out in the Guard first). I got a 555 for my record ACFT and I got a 1:37 on my SDC. I think adding 135-180 lbs on the drag will help me push to get below that 1:30.

Rucking is one of the best I used my iotv and ran 3 miles in 24 mins with boots. The next day my calves were so sore keep in mind I go to gym everyday also. That was my first time doing that lol

I just wish it was easier to go and work out in AIT. I'm so sick of this battlebuddy system bs. My SDC has consistently been really slow and it's difficult to get someone to go to the gym with without completely giving up my day to go around and follow their schedule. I know I need to work on my leg strengths because the drag makes my legs jello halfway through and I usually end up jerking the sled back with my arms because I have no leg strength left. There's very little I can do for legs on my own other than air squatting in my room

Man your workouts look legit but I've got a swimming component I've gotta keep up. If you ever make a plan that has watercon built into it I'd buy ASAP just thought I'd let you know there's some fans of yours who gotta swim!

The new Army ACFT is a joke. What you failed to mention in this video is that the weight increases to 180 lbs when this event is administered on a non-grass/turf surface (CENTCOM). Try maxing that!

Thank you for all you do! My question is bit off topic, but I am interested in joining the army as an officer (I have a degree) and was interested in going the infantry route. My question is, do you think it is realistic for an officer to go from I-BOLC to ranger school, airborne, and RSLC? I am interested greatly in these schools but I hear conflicting things. Also, if it is possible, what would the pipeline look like for these schools? Thank you for all your content and help!
@GrittySoldier7 ай бұрын
Ranger and Airborne definitely, if you get honor grad RSLC may be in the cards. But, I’d use your wild card on something more exotic like Pathfinder. Once you get to your unit, tell your BC immediately you want to be scout platoon leader, that’s reserved for the best PLs and you’ll definitely go to RSLC for that position.
