Hi Andreas, I do not own a multimeter right now, otherwise I would try and copy what you did in this video. I deformed the Oil seal (on the crankshaft bearing side) of the john deere 400. I was wondering if you had a part number or link to purchase that as a stand alone item. I don’t see it individually on I save tractors.

While I was rebuilding my JD 400 this website came in super handy, as I found all the drawings and parts for the whole machine. This link will direct you to all the subassemblies: bit.ly/3M4hEho and this link we be specifically for the engine: bit.ly/3xrMtJ5 . You will see one seal which is on the the side of the pulley or like you mentioned the side of the bearing. You should be able to purchase this seal directly from their website. If you measure a metric seal at 43.5 mm od , would you order 43 or 44 mm

Sorry for my late reply. It depend on the cross section. I would probably go with a 43mm o-ring in this case.

That happens to all of us haha. Always look at the decimal or else you won't find the right parts or you'll end up with the wrong parts 😁

The vendors have no list as you used in your video. Sadly they assume you know the number

I'm sorry to hear that your vendor does not supply seals by the size. Many times they do want to verify the part number to be sure it will fit, so they do not have to restock items. All seals are manufactured to imperial and metric sizes, so hopefully you can find a different vendor that will help you, in the near future. Regards Andreas
