Thankyou, this was useful and I enjoy the absolute honesty. I'm trying to make curtains for someone's business and want to do a good job. The curtains in your house look really elegant so I trust all of the advice on here. I love the idea of having a lot of room to put curtains on either side of the window.

What about using Traverse Rods? I'm very picky when it comes to how draperies hang when they're closed, so it just makes sense to me to use a traverse rod (baring the initial expense). I've watched some drapery measuring and hanging videos but I never see traverse rods being used. Why is that. Am I the only one with OCD when it comes to closing draperies in the evening?

Hi there, thank you for the great videos. I have a question for you. Window is 110 inch wide and one side butts up against the wall. I gather from your videos we have to stack On the opposite side, which has a tremendous amount more of wall space. So my question is, do I stack everything on the wall space side? Or do I split it? I ask because I'm a little confused by this video. With my window Completely up against the wall on one side and the other side has tons of space. Where do I put the stack?

@@erinnvalencich4732 Thank you so much. Just wondering would it look odd with the pole sticking out much further on the one side in order to hold the stack? Would I be able to send you a photograph. I don’t mind having it either way to be honest I do love light but I think I’ll get used to it being stacked on one side. May I show you?

Unpopular opinion (here): Not every curtain looks good hung waaay above the window frame…

You may have lost those in your casual audience that like the "cheesy and played out" (9:32) polished nickel hardware. 😉

I have an open floor concept and the wall towards the back yard has a window sliding doors and then another window, would you add window treatments to the sliding door? Sliding door does have the hanging blinds and the windows have blinds as well.

My window measures 34 X 58. What size should I get to make sure it’s not too small and not dangling to the floor?

I like this lady but what is it with Americans and panels? Can’t they just give actual measurements? As in “if the window is 100 inches wide you will need double that pinch pleats”.

What size curtains for 11 feet wide?? Not sure
@erinnvalencich8203 жыл бұрын
Always make the drapery rod wider that the window. I explain that in the video- at least 10" past on each side if you have the wall space. If you have more wall, potentially wider.

Useful, but your personal likes and dislikes can be a little off putting, depending on who you're talking to. You're speaking to a big audience, whom I assume have different opinions than yours-it'd be beneficial to keep your (insulting) remarks on the different options to yourself.
