Great great great conversation. Very inspiring!! Mr. Tart PhD has a new fan. And this is owing to you Mr. Mishlove. I am watching your Interviews delightedly. They have wonderful contents. I feel very lucky to have an access to them. Thanks.

Out of respect and admiration for both of you, I'm happily watching and following what Dr. Tart is saying about mindfulness. As Dr. Mishlove points out, mindfulness has become a buzzword. The irony is that it became a 'mindless' buzzword. I work in behavioral health, and the term is thrown around all day. Yeesh!

Such a good point at 27:40 - successful people are the WORST teachers. They either never had any trouble or they don't remember how it was.
@squamish42446 жыл бұрын
It is one of the most important points anyone seriously analyzing Buddhism can make. The majority of the teachers out there who are 50+ years old were ridiculously successful very early on in their practice, and their teaching advice generally ranges from pretty good to awful. Even the more astute ones, like Shinzen Young, have this problem - I mean, a decisive breakthough after *four years* of practice, and then he tries to tell people how 'hard' it was to integrate that into his whole life. Too bad Shinzen, I just don't feel sorry for you :)

Great interview :) Thank you! I do meditate with the aim to open up, clean energy blockages, feel as i wish :P In any case - a way to lower friction and let go, or a way to go deep can take you to OBE, easier manifestation, nice feelings :)

So which of these two meditations should you use to eventually achieve an out of body experience? One, the other, or both?
@NewThinkingAllowed7 жыл бұрын
Probably neither. For techniques to cultivate out-of-body experience, see the interviews with Luis Minero: www.newthinkingallowed.com/Listings.htm

Sure, you can try out meditation just to see what it's like. But that's not likely to amount to much. Better to find some context that explains what it's good for. That helps both with motivation and with getting what it's good for . . .

I always think that what I'd onenis paralyzed and wanted to meditate so the sitting position. Doesn't matter...also buddjism doesn't want us to have attachments so... therfore I don't worry too much about the "sitting position" , in mynlife what works to get me meditating works.
