I live in an area where the Banditos have a very large and active chapter. As a woman with a young son who is constantly in the same places or sharing the road with these gentlemen, i can 100% say it is always about knowing your place and respect. At a gas station, i had a ton of drinks and snacks, and was in line to pay when i noticed the guys behind me only had a few things, so i let them go infront of me, just out of kidness. Didn't even register who they were because it didn't matter to me. Alas, it wasa could Bandito members. Not only did they pay for my snacks, but they also filled the gas tank in my car, showed my son their bikes, and gave him some stickers and a bandana. Told him to stay in school and respect his mom and dad, and they rolled out. Got to give respect to get respect.

Did it ever occur to you that the "kindness" they shared to you was them trying to get their foot in the door to your son? That's exactly what it was, they want to recruit your boy and you are to foolish to see this for what it is.

@@TheGhjgjgjgjgjg it wasn’t her kindness, she wimped out to them, AND OR she wanted to fuck one member or ten. The Hawaiians always say this give respect to get it. Nahhh, what they mean is bend over and take it up the ass from us, kiss our shoes you just shined and suck up to their ego …then… and only then will they actually treat you just normal back. It’s all fear and intimidation. It’s bullshit words for fake respect. Hawaiians want to know they you know you will simp and wimp out and always let them go first and shit then they claim this ‘respect’ shit but what it actually is just being treated neutral and acknowledging them. Don’t mince words. Be real and say it like it really is.

Hells Angels protected me and my grandmother when I was a kid and we’re a black family. This happened in New York and I was a little kid, there was a Tattoo Shop that Hells Angels were always outside of,a guy ran by and snatched my grandmothers bag, I ran away screaming crying and scared and ran right into the Hells Angels and told them what happened, they jumped on their bikes and caught the guy, dragged him back and gave my grandmother her bag back and beat the sh!t out of this guy. I don’t ride but since that day I had an enormous respect for Hells Angels.

The band I played in out of Indy ( Eclipse ) was known as a biker band. I met some of the Outlaws when they would come and see us play. I also had a friend who owned a Motor cycle shop and met some of them there. One of the Outlaws would always check my work on my first Harley build and let me know if I had done something wrong. All he would say is " you need to check the work you did last night it isnt right. He would not straight up say what was wrong . This helped me learn a ton about bike builds.

I was born and raised around the life, my Dad (RIP) & Uncle (RIP) were full patches in Arizona. I know for a fact that walking up to a 1%er club and asking how to join is just as dangerous (and stupid) as walking up to OG Crips, Bloods, Trece or Diesiocho and asking to join them. Red & White have a saying..."they don't recruit, they recognize." I now live in Texas and everyone in the life knows who runs shit out here. Out of RESPECT, I told them who my family was and where I came from when I first started running into full patches regularly. They welcomed me to be around them and even hang out with them and during those years I saw them school many people who approached them the wrong way. Many of these young heads don't realize it takes a long time to gain their trust and friendship if they're elite 1%ers. They're selective and cautious. Young MF'ers that run around talking trash and making noise aren't the kind of members they're looking for. Most of those kind never made it to be an official hang around let alone a prospect. Lots of dudes think it's cool to wear a patch until they come face to face with enemies and pigs. Like Father Barger (RIP) said; "Everyone's a tough guy until you come face to face with one." Keep up the good work schooling these young cats Ghost.

Story time. I was invited to prospect for a local mom and pop support club. I was interviewed by two members I didn't know. They wanted me to be about that club, not for the experience, not to level up, ABOUT THAT CLUB. Two weeks later these same guys weren't at the meeting. They leveled up. At that point I handed the cut back over. Shook everyone else's hand and parted as friends. Don't come at me with what I shouldn't do and go do it yourself.

I've known clubbers my entire life. I gained much respect by simply being myself, a horse's arse, extending and receiving respect, and making it clear that I had no intention of joining, I'd never be a part of an organization that would have me as a member as Groucho used to say. I couldn't possibly match the riding skills of the men I know, I'd be a danger on a run. I found that bikers are among the most honest people I've run across. Good show, Ghost.

@@FrankDuPont-pe1ub funny thing is when people say ‘so and so is the most respectful of best of whatever that I’ve ever met!’ Well all that tells me is you have a boring life and haven’t met a lot of people! You people and who you know and respect and what you’ve seen is no judge of the whole country. I’m a 17yr airline employee, I’ve been around the world 5x and met more people in a month and of different countries and cultures and have more life experience in a month than you people do in your whole lifetime. It’s hilarious to me to hear people say ‘of all I’ve met’ hahahaha. Wow, you must’ve lived a slow and boring sheltered life! Bikers play an act and roll and the niceness is an act. Good criminals are the best actors. All the bad criminals and ones in jail and ex cons are mostly bad actors and bad poker players with horrible poker faces and give away their tells. That’s just the straight REAL facts of life. All the best dominant that rode off into the sunset with all their front teeth and straight noses and jaws have all been excellent actors. Dead facts bro hoe hahaha’s. 🤣🤣

One thing I've learned in my short 50 years on Earth is that respect is so simple but seems to be in such demand these days. I think social media has created a world of cyber tough guys that can't punch their way out of paper sack and expects respect without giving it. Respect USED to be taught at home! I don't know what happened to the country I grew up in.

My advice to people is that brand isn't everything. I lived in areas with very big, very well-known 1% clubs and I rode enough that I got to know a lot of the members. Good guys and certainly no disrespect to them or their clubs, but that wasn't for me. I hung around with a very well-known 1% club and was asked if I wanted to prospect and I said a respectful no because it just wasn't for me. I liked the guys, respected the club, but that just wasn't my lifestyle. I ended up with a much smaller MC, only about 8-12 active members spread over a large area. Outside of our corner of the world, no one ever heard of us. But it was all combat veterans, super tight knit, the way that people dream of MC's being. Also very well run with chapter leadership that had been in the life for decades and had good connections with the local dominant. Not talking down on any large clubs out there, but don't join a big club just because it's got a known name and a cool looking three piece. Take your time and find people that you really feel like they're your brothers.

I think he had a shirt or hat on with the colors on it. He became my sponsor. Our job required us to travel a lot. He was out of a different chapter. I began hanging around and then prospected. probably a dumb question here but still going to ask, can one ride around with a vest that is filled up with patches of the rallies and events they have been to, and/or bands they like and not get in trouble? no back patch or rockers, just rallies and bands and maybe a nickname or so?

Yes, as long as you ain't got a top or bottom rocker or some logo on your back your all good. Basically keep your back clean best advice 👍 patches like the ones you speak are totally fine 😎

Yeah, and with me, I’ve had a MC come up to me twice in the last week and asked me to come to their clubhouse and was asking me about if I wanted to join the second one threw me off and I almost drawed on him. Was first at a red light and dude got out his car and walked up next to me. Was pretty cool tho. Have always wanted to be in an mc and was cool af and flattering to get noticed and invited.

Seems to me just by simple observation ....if you imagine there would be a time where you know you should go home, its just not for you. I met a few Bandidos riding, one of them I knew from years past before he became a Bandido and we both knew there were times where one of us needed to cut out. He never asked me about joining and I never wanted to. We were just riding and knew each other enough to know I left my past behind and he was still doing his thing. So maybe consider that before trying too hard to be something that you may find out you are not.

I rode 1 year on my own. My 2nd year I started riding with people in my town. 2 members from a diamond club came thru my job and saw my bike parked right next to the front door. We chopped it up and he handed me a card with his name and number and told me to come hang out and if everything is cool we can ride together. Just ride your ride if it's meant to be you'll have your chance to hang out. Just be respectful and wait your turn.

Man, you are so right about being careful in bars. I used to go to this local place after my shift for a few drinks. Sometimes guys will show up acting tough looking for a fight with another MC. I f you are someone like me who is not good at fighting you do not want to be around when that happens. On the upside if you have an interest in motorcycles. Those guys will talk your ear off about them.

Been ridin over 40 years been around many clubs the first was the Booze Fighters . I had no place to keep my bike and i knew this guy who let me keep my bike at his place and he taught me the ways and invited me to ride with them . After years of hanging around biker bars and club members i got to know a lot of people was asked to join more then one but always respectfully declined but remained friends with many from 81 on down . I no longer ride because i got covid and it has really messed me up and i dont feel safe riding or being in a pack and putting others in harms way

I agree with Sose. Go to bike events at your local HD dealer, bike week and advertised bike events. I also agree you need to be built for the life as well. Pick a club that fits you and how you ride weather it's a 1%, or just a bike club. Again 1% is exactly that. It's not for everyone.

Two things that come to mind...1st, get invited. Be a hang around & supporter. I was a long time hang around b/c a member took a shine to this 14 year old punk kid who had bad family life, & brought me with him to club events. B/c I was an unofficial prospect for 4 years I was patched in at 18. 2nd, know how to ride, like a diamond holder. You show that, along with your respecf for the club, earns you steps.

He’s right, if you don’t know people that know people you must not ride enough and that’s your first and biggest problem. I used to ride sport bikes and I didn’t want to nor was I the type to be part of gangs or clubs but I frequented this pool hall that a local club would frequent just to drink and chill and they just one day watched me play some pool and one of the guys started talking to me just to play some 8ball and in the beginning it was just about pool he never even talked about his club or anything and eventually we hit up some girls at the bar and next thing you know I got cool with all of them. I never joined but till this day I just have a connection with them. You have to be part of the community befor you even start to think you can talk about anything club related.

Good advice, I've belonged to an MC for 25 years not a diamond club. However, I met many 1% members and I realized in my first few years that a diamond club was not for me. Some 1percenters were friends. This I can affirm, if you converse with a diamond club member keep it light. Talk about bikes, cars, and places you've been to. Just regular every day conversation. Remember your speaking with people. Don't approach them like their a celebrity or side show freak.

I went online to a motorcycle community. They post events. I am in a motorcycle association and went to some events to support. I know I do not want to be a part of 1 percent MC. It's not for me, but because I am going to different events, I have hung out with the Outlaws and the Bandidos even though the MC's I went to hang out with are not 1 percent clubs or support clubs. I have been asked to prospect for one club, not 1 percent, but the association I belong to allows me freedom. My life doesn't revolve around my motorcycle. I have other interests and responsibilities. I might just hang with them and leave it at that.

Yeah, it's not for everyone. It wasn't for me but, I had a great time and met some awesome ass people. I realized that I would've had to prioritize the club over my family, at least with that club. That's the only thing that kept me from being a probate. At least from my end. I loved hanging out and, it was a relatively small chapter with some men of high character. They were very selective about who they associated with. Which I liked. I was extremely honored to be given the respect that they gave. It was a great experience and a hell of a time.
