You are brillant! I’ve been struggling to figure out how to memorize the minor chords and what order to practice them. The circle of fifths looks like you should start with C for major chords and it looks like you start with Am for minor chords. I followed your “practice the major chords daily” video and memorized them so quickly that I couldn’t believe it. I knew about the 4+3 and 3+4 and I figure each minor chords out but the order threw me off. But your hack to just move the middle note down one was a game changer. I was just able to play all 12 minor chords with no problem no matter which chord I started with! Thank you so much.

I’ve never considered learning chords by memorizing which ones follow which white/black patterns. Cool stuff! I’ll have to think of some better (no offense) words/phrases to help me learn them.

Just try not to memorise them in French that's all. It seems to take much longer. :))

I know all the chords in C major, plus A, D and E. Most of the Chords in G, the 'Bs' throw me off a bit because like you said, they are 'weird.' My biggest issues are note reading above A in the G-clef and below C in the bass clef. AND playing left and right at the same time. I know, practice, practice, practice.

Great tip with the half step down on the middle note to make a major chord a minor chord. For someone who struggles to remember these things sometimes I think this tip might stick. Thank you for making this video.. 👍

I am seventy. I learned playing a mini organ in church from age 20. My system was this in the beginning. To play accompaniment with the left hand, I memorised do-me-sol; do-fa-la; re-sol-ti; and the minor do-mi-la. Although three of them are inversions, this has served me well. I think it's good enough for playing block chords as in an organ; but I'm not sure it will work for arpeggios on piano. I never hand a problem with left-right hand coordination while playing the the organ; but with the piano, it is quite difficult.

Your approach to learning the mini organ at 20 with your chord memorization system is commendable. Transitioning to piano can indeed pose challenges with left-right hand coordination, but with practice, you'll likely find effective strategies to adapt!

WOW! That’s amazing to me. I have to mentally sing, “do-re-me-fa” etc. to figure out which is which.

@meherteli4509 ай бұрын

Cool, so basically mathematical commuatative property, except in music you get major and minor with 4 + 3 and 3 + 4.
