I don't know if it's been a year or two, but I just came back again to let you know that... I still remember your grocery list, in that exact same order. And maybe I'm never gonna forget it in my life.

What? Why didn't you just memorized the summaries of those engineering books? You'd just wasted your brain cells.

They need to teach this to kids early in their schooling. I had problems with #16 Cherry. I added an image of george washington chopping down a cherry tree. Just a cherry wasn't invoking anything.

Good job improvising! That's huge that you not only learned the trick but you know how to shape it to fit your learning style. Love it

If we want to store the information in long-term memory, can we reuse pegs system? If we use "pencil" to remember lots of things, i think it is difficult

There's also the Mnemonic Major System for number recall, especially for auditory, musical, and verbal people. Google it!

+Adventure Time If playing the piano requires memorizing numbers at any stage, then the Mnemonic Major System can help with that part. However, playing the piano is largely a mechanical skill, at least before learning music theory to read notes, so it is more about practice, practice, practice, than memorization. And practice in small, but regular, daily chunks. Something like 10 to 25 minutes max, no more, on a daily basis, would definitely show results in anywhere from one month to 6 months.

Hello, would it be possible if I can contact you? I've just started all of these memory systems. I understand mostly how to do it. I just need a numbered process to make sure I'm doing it correctly. For instance (excuse me if I dont have the terminology down yet) what I understand so far the steps are going through my house picking furniture prices I have 20. Afterward I walk through the back door and have 5 Harry Potter characters, then 5 pirates of the Caribbean characters then 5 buildings in an order I understand. Should I just add your pegs after the buildings I have. It would give me 55 pegs after that but you do it in a way to remember the numbers 11-20 not 36-55

Frequently couldn't remember a list of one item. Twenty is now not the slightest issue. Haven't tried, but would feel pretty confident right now to tackle one hundred, THANX! Now applying it practically to my life. Only issue is that my memory is too pathetic to remember that the list contained 15 items. The thought that there's 16 or more would have tortured me if I couldn't look at the list. (Think I'll try adding a violent death to the story of 16/the last number to symbolise the end of the list).

Same thing i use. Got from Harry Loraine. 1=t, d 2= n 3=m 4=r 5= l 6= j,ch,sh 7=hard g, k 8=f,v 9=p,b 0= z,s. These are the sounds for each number. If there's more than 10 just use the sounds and fill in the blanks with vowels. Example: the number 35 is the m sound and the l sound so I visualize mail. Easy.
