I was expecting a demonstration of what the sound is like with each setting. 💁

You missed to mention the distance of the front mic (Shure ). Your demo , tutorial is simple yet direct to the point and helpful . Have ever played in a church where the natural acoustics has this echo/revers because of this architecture designs ? What mix adjustments will you advise .?

For live gigs I am using just 1 Mic = Shure Beta 91 inside the cajon. This mic is able to capture not only the Bass sound but also the High tones very well. Soundcheck takes 5 min. and I am ready to go. Studio and recording is a different story.

Thanks Noah, yes I’ve heard that Shure mic is good too 👍 I’ve been using the D6 for over 10 years now and always works amazing for me. Also depends on the playing style of each cajon player too as to which mic is best to capture their tones. 🎶 All the best with your gigs 😎

I guess ill take your word for it since you didn't demonstrate what it sounds like

Thanks Arthur 👍 I’ve been using either of these 2 mic options for 10 years now, and always work a treat 👌🎶

I basically do the same thing, though I use an SM58. I found the best and most consistent sound comes from dropping the mic right inside. You get all the good tones out of your Cajon. This also works great for me because I will use brushes allot, when I play and this setup picks that up better.

John Miller Hello sir!! Do u using sm58 in ur cagon? How its sounds??
@ulusot3 жыл бұрын
I do the same, just dropping a sm58 on a cloth at the bottom. but i would like to try a audix D6.
@johnmiller76823 жыл бұрын
@@ulusot Just to update. I'll still use an sm58 on some of my Cajon's, but I've started installing "boundary" mics, just bellow the sound hole. And they work great. Though you have to keep the gain really really really low, or they'll clip.

I use Sm 58 for lows and Sm57 for highs .... I prefer to place Sm 58 at 1 inch distance from the hole and Sm 57 3 to 4 inches away from the front board and soundcheck doesn't take more than 2 mins
@ByronMarkSydney2 жыл бұрын
Cheers 👍 yes I tried that for the sound hole, but as I move around a fair bit when I play, I found it easier to have it on the inside 👍 All best with your gigs 🎶

Hey Corey, yes that could work too - just make sure you adjust EQ levels accordingly. Sorry for the late reply!

Hello. I'm from Uruguay and I have a question. I've two microphones, an audio technica AT2035 and a behringer XM8500. How I should put them around the cajon to get a good sound for? Sorry for my horrible english
@ByronMarkSydney6 жыл бұрын
Hi there - sorry I haven't used these mics on a Cajon before, so not sure how they work on this drum. However, in general at the back of the sound hole and at the front will maximise you getting the acoustic natural sounds of the cajon :)
@ByronMarkSydney5 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm not familiar with those microphones sorry! But just try some different placements out, and then you'll find the sweet spot eventually!

how can we remove humming ..while insert mic in it ?? any solution??
@ByronMarkSydney6 жыл бұрын
Hi there - for me its about getting the EQ right, which varies depending on the room/space you are in - but generally, if you remove some of the Mids - it works really well. Hope you've been able to get a good sound!
@ByronMarkSydney5 жыл бұрын
Hey man - if you take out the mid frequencies a bit, should be fine.

what about a mic clamp that attaches to the port ?
@ByronMarkSydney8 жыл бұрын
hey man - ive tried that, but its a bit bulky, and i find that on the inside it is much easier and sounds great!
@ByronMarkSydney6 жыл бұрын
Hi Rich, I tried this but I much prefer the mic sitting inside, so I know the sound will remain constant throughout the entire gig, even if I move around - and always works well this way :)
