How to migrate settings and pages from Divi to another site

Good video - I suggest a new one which would also include the divi cloud options. (Also in my experience Divi is much faster than shown in the video - I suspect that was unusual for you).

Hi, great video. I have one recommendation though for the Theme Builder option to work when you have custom Header & Footer layouts you'd want to import to the new site, keep the New Pages set to Default Template and not a blank page. Otherwise the custom header and footer won't apear after importing them into the Divi Theme Builder

It depends what the intention is for migrating the site. If you're just wanting to put it on a different domain name, you can change the primary domain with your hosting provider. If you're migrating hosting providers, the host will probably have a migration tool to help you, or there are migration plugins. Does that help at all?

Thank you for the video. I can't get this to work at all. I keep getting the message "This file should not be imported in this context" every single time. This is for the Theme Options, Customization Settings and a Page Layout. All files are 0kb and will not import. Seen some similar issues in the divi forums with no clear answers. Tried to import to library first, and that did not work either. No files were saved to the library after multiple tries. I have a lifetime account with Divi and everything is up to date. Maybe it's the host? Ideas welcome :)

Sorry it's causing you problems. With a lifetime license, you have access to Elegant Themes support - I would reach out to them and they will give you some guidance as to why it may be happening.

Hello, what if I don't have access anymore to the wordpress administration panel (my domain expired and I can only access files via SFTP) can I do it this way? Via STFP and keep the setting that I did on Divi Option tab, CSS etc. ?

Did you renew your domain name now? Best to contact your hosting provider and they will help you gain access again.

Why can't divi just comply to the wordpress standards? It is just sad and a pain to move a divi-site. Instead of just copying the data and the database, while changing the url, you have to run dozens of weird extra steps.

I haven't experienced any issues with migrating the sites. Maybe reach out to the Elegant Themes team and see if they're likely to fix this issue that you're experiencing in a future release.
