I was surprised to hear you say this originally because I'd heard that Milk products (the brand, not dairy...!) used more 'natural' ingredients than many other brands.

This is such a coincidence. I have been struggling with this issue lately. There are hardly any good “green” primers without silicone. Milk to the rescue! I can’t wait to try it. They really ought to start thinking about including people older than 24 in their ads and attitudes. I didn’t take them seriously because they are so millennial driven. Ageism is really demoralizing and cruel. It’s a big problem in the entire beauty industry. I really want to be more than a wrinkle cream to some brands. Diversity means more than skin color. I felt the same way about Glossier. When I threw caution to the wind, and tried the Cloud Paint, I was blown away. They are beautiful. Sadly, many brands have kicked us to the “wrinkled” curb. I hope things change. ❤️

Michelle Burnstein Touché! Thank you for your honest opinion which so many of us see going on but say nothing. People in their 50’s or even 60’s do not look old. It’s not like back in the day of our mothers. People today, because of all the tools and information available to them, look amazing! 😉

I also want to thank you for this community. I had the opportunity to help Annette, one of your loyal followers. She lives in Sweden and was so consistent in her desire to try the TATCHA water cream. After many months I couldn't take it anymore and contacted her. It just seemed wrong for a lady to sincerely want an item and be without, You're the only KZbin beauty person she follows. She likes your heart and skin care theory. She sees all you do from KZbin, Instagram, and your blog, Very dedicated to you so I'm so happy to help her with some TATCHA products and maybe a few other brans I may have samples in, I just pray the shipping goes well. 🙏

More than your product recommendations, I appreciate your advice on techniques. After the video you did on how to use Hourglass Mineral Veil by softening it in your palms, I started applying all my smoothing primers that way and it works perfectly. When I went CF, I stopped using Benefit and Dr. Brandt Pores No More, both of which worked really well for me. I am currently using Tarte and it is okay but now I am looking forward to trying the Milk.

When I have an event or party and I'm putting on my full beat I always use the setting spray trick! I only do it a little differently, I apply the primers and then use my sponge dampened with Skindinavia Bridal setting spray and push it all in, then apply foundation, and repeat with setting spray sponge , apply concealer, repeat with setting spray sponge. I try not to powder my under eyes too much and this helps me use minimal to no powder. And the layers don't feel heavy at all for me.

That's LMFB great suggestion! How damp do you make your sponge with the setting spray? I've never actually tried it even though I've been told it's great for longevity especially for oily skin!

Thanks a lot for doing a video that discusses the reason behind skin care techniques and the stages to use each technique when it comes to primers and bases... most primer tutorials are only on advertising newer brands and I find myself at a complete loss at whether to invest in drug store of high end products as if it will make a difference at all. This is much more informative : ) Ta

After trying several primers that were highly recommended here on KZbin with less than positive results I took a chance on It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Serum Primer. Boom. Worked amazing & didn't dry out my skin or pill up. I use a drop of it & after all my makeup is on I spray a sponge with Smashbox Primer Water & then press that into any areas I want to glow. I'm usually already wearing vit c serum, an essence, a moisturizer & sunscreen under my foundation so I don't need more layers :) Bye Bye Pores smoothes out fine lines & texture, I can even use it under my eyes if I want to.

I made a huge mistake with my skincare about two years ago. I had real bad cystic acne and was pretty desparate. I had been using Paula’s choice Resist skincare line, including their bha. However, I seen a video where this guy was using a benzyl peroxide under his moisturizer, even if he didn’t have acne there at the time. So I thought...hey I’ll give it a try.... and at the beginning I was getting great results. Now keep in mind, I am also a licensed skincare specialist lol. I’ve worked for Clarins & Lancome. I know I know but when you have cystic acne....cystic acne will make you try and do dumb stuff 😂. I was doing something that I would never tell my clients to do bc keep in mind, I was still doing my same old routine, including bha. I started applying the benzyl peroxide all over my face, except around the eyes. Then all of a sudden my foundation was caking, creasing, wouldn’t stay on etc. I went from oily to super dry, sensitive/dehydrated skin. So, thankfully as soon as I started having this symptom, I stopped the benzyl peroxide and I actually stopped the bha just to give it a rest. Kept it super simple. Now at first bc bha was making my skin cells to turnover quickly, I had this thick layer of dead skin on my face. I started watching Elle Leary bc of her extreme knowledge of skincare and Wayne Goss. It took me little over a year just to see a little bit of oil come back and I so miss my oil. I started using a muslin cloth 2-3 times a week bc the exfoliator that I was trying to use in place of a bha (eminence strawberry dermafoliant with lactic acid) was just not conducive to the symptoms my skin was having, (plus Elle suggested it in one of her videos ☺️) a gentle gentle cream cleanser and toner and a day and night moisturizer with spf during the day, a moisture mask 3-4 times a week and that’s it, kept it extremely simple for about 8 mos. So then I slowly started introducing serums. The first serum I used was the iunik beta-glucan power moisture serum and I used it for nighttime,(Ms. Elle Leary suggested this product in one of her videos, thank you Elle), Wow, that serum makes your skin so soft. and now Im trying a moisture serum under my moisturizer during the day. Slow and steady is my best advice. My skin is normal to dry now but Im also 42 years old but at least I can wear makeup now. Thank you Elle!!!!!
