Hey guys, what happens to the mix once you switch the pump from mixing to the hosepipe? how much time before it starts to sediment and loose consistency?

Wondering where the best place to purchase the hydroseeding products such as the mulch and seed? Thanks!
@voigtsmithinnovation41124 жыл бұрын
Hey Mark! We use the landscape supplier Site One for most of our mulch (Lesco Seed Starter 3) purchases and Ramy Seed Co. for most of our seed! If neither of these have locations near you, you could try searching "Landscape supplier" and see what is nearby!

@@voigtsmithinnovation4112 Thanks so much for the info - I really appreciate it! Any advice on what you think might be one of the better Hydroseeding Units and Size(Gal) recommendations for someone just starting out. I'm in Maine. Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my questions!
@voigtsmithinnovation41124 жыл бұрын
@@mgauthier72 If you're just starting out, our 200 gallon unit will more than likely be the best unit for you. It has enough capacity to do a range of different sized jobs, while still being small enough to fit into the back of any pickup. The 400 gallon could be a unit to get as your business grows and hydroseeding becomes a bigger part of that. If you have any further questions just give us a call at 507.252.3033. Thanks!

where do u find the seeds and the green stuuff
@voigtsmithinnovation41127 жыл бұрын
Eric, depending on where you are located there should be an erosion control dealer nearby. They should have the grass seed, mulch, and anything else you would need. A common one across the US is SiteOne.

Looks like a well built machine , do you have a 300 gallon unit?
@voigtsmithinnovation41125 жыл бұрын
We discontinued our 300 JAH a couple years back due to low demand. We do have a 400 gallon that does still fit in a long box, check out our website, www.vsinnovation.com for more info.
@steved.56285 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply, lam definitely interested in your machine. The 400 is a little out of my price range was hoping a 300 was a little less expensive.

Had a clog issue today that required taking the agitation valves out and unclogging them on a much larger tank (running 300 gallons) Is there an easier way of unglogging agitation hoses without disassembly?
@voigtsmithinnovation41124 жыл бұрын
Depends on what is causing the clogs. The most common cause is not flushing the hydroseeder after use and the much will harden in the hoses/fittings. With paper mulch (what we recommend for our machines) it will be more forgiving and less prone to clogging. Running water through every part of the machine after the end of each day should solve most clogging issues. The other main reason could be adding the mulch too fast or adding too much mulch. If the pump sucks in a ball of mulch its possible for this to get stuck in hoses/fittings. The solution to this is to pour the mulch in slower or if you are using bales break them up further before adding them.

Is the tac/hydroseeder also have the dye crystals in it?
@voigtsmithinnovation41126 жыл бұрын
Andrew, we do not add any extra dye to the mix besides the dye that is already in the mulch. The blue crystals that you see with the tackifier are the water soluble fertilizer.
@birdbrain2222226 жыл бұрын
what is the blue green that you add fertilizer??
@voigtsmithinnovation41126 жыл бұрын
Eddie, that is a water soluble fertilizer that dissolves into the mix instead of using a granular fertilizer.
@Justicewillbegiven6 жыл бұрын
What type of mulch are you using all my mulch is one square block about 50 lbs a real pain to break up
@voigtsmithinnovation41126 жыл бұрын
We use what's called a pellet much. Same paper as the bales but a lot easier to work with. So instead of breaking up you can just pour the pellets in.

How much fert and lime per tank or per gallon? Any info? :) i built my own seeder and it works good just need to know mix ratios :)
@voigtsmithinnovation41126 жыл бұрын
Matt, any ingredient you use will have a certain application rate, and will vary by brand. We are using our "1-2 Punch" fertilizer and tackifier blend, which is 6oz. per 100 gallons.

That's what it looked like sommelier to when u seed by hand and use mulch pellets ..

It's the same stuff. You can use it in a hydroseeder or if you just have a small area you can spread it by hand.

@@voigtsmithinnovation4112 Yes, but it is difficult to hear with the engine noise.
@voigtsmithinnovation41124 жыл бұрын
@@Katie-sx5kf There is no secret recipe to hydroseeding and it will all come down to what specific mulch, seed, and ingredients you choose to use. All of these will have different application rates. Our 200 JAH is able to mix enough mulch to do about 2,000 sq. ft. of flat ground coverage. So if your mulch application rate is 50# per 1,000 sq ft you would put in 100# of mulch. If your seed rate is 7# per 1,000 sq ft, you would put in 14#. Depending on type of seed/mulch these numbers can vary greatly and there is no standard application rate for every product/scenario.
