Where are getting the 10% now? Walmart(had)it on their shelf for about a week then took it off and replaced it with that $10 a gallon "Outdoor Cleaner". I checked all the local box stores, their online "Availability" app said they had it, but didn't say how many they had, so I chatted with their agent, and found out they didn't actually have it, and that it would probably maybe be available by June 5th. I should have bought 50 jugs of it at Walmart when they had 200 gallons on the shelf.

Dan, thanks for giving us the "low hanging fruit" knowledge of this industry. I watch 4 or 5 other washer channels and they give high level info but it doesn't cover the nuts and bolts (the basics) of soft washing/pressure washing. You give us the knowledge that will make someone more confident in the use of these simple chemicals. Thank you for sharing this knowledge with us and giving us options outside of $4k+ skids and trailers.

I service it regularly. I also use a down stream injector as recommended by Dan to avoid running bleach through my pump. I paid about 500 for it and made that back after about two House washes. I also purchased the two story spray tip that Dan uses and it is AWSOME no mor telescopic pole lol those things will wear you out quick. I also use a surface cleaner for driveways which makes driveways a quick money maker. I know that’s more info than you ask for, but I hope that helps. Ps. Hi Dan, how many ounces of the 10% solution do I need to add to a 1 gallon pump sprayer? I am trying to figure out the correct ratio. Thanks.
@DansVlog2 жыл бұрын
When using a pump up sprayer such as a 1 gallon type that you’re using the amount of solution you’re actually applying at one time is very small in comparison to a pressure washer using a downstream chemical injector. With that said, a downstream chemical injector like the type I use has a 20 to 1 final ratio And if I siphon that 10% straight then it’s a 20 to 1 recipe going onto the house but at a large volume. Back to the pump up sprayer, being that it’s going to be a small volume going on almost like a mist, you will want to go stronger than 20 to 1. I would go with. 7:1 to maybe a 10:1 mix. Consider using 13 to 16 ounces (2 cups) of 10% per gallon of water. If that doesn’t work well, add a little more a few ounces at a time. If it cuts the yuk under 3-5 minutes, add water and thin it out to minimize damage to plants and lawn

Hey Dan, I got a question. Would I be able to use a 2 gallon pump up sprayer? And how would I dilute the chemical if I am trying to pressure wash concrete patio, driveway, and steps?
@RichardLeyva-vf5jb Жыл бұрын
Sodium Hypochlorite and Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate are used as disinfectants and sanitizers, and both are commonly used in swimming pools to kill bacteria and algae. Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate (often referred to as Dichlor) is a type of stabilized chlorine, which means it has a longer shelf life and is less affected by sunlight than Sodium Hypochlorite. It's often used in granular or tablet form for pool chlorination and is known for its stability and slow release of chlorine into the pool. Sodium Hypochlorite, on the other hand, is the active ingredient in liquid bleach and is often used in liquid pool chlorine. It acts faster than Dichlor but is more affected by sunlight and has a shorter shelf life. So, while they are not chemically identical, they can often be used interchangeably for pool chlorination. However, the amount you need to use and the way you handle them may differ, so it's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions. For pressure or soft washing, Sodium Hypochlorite is commonly used because it's effective at removing stains, mildew, and algae. Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate could potentially be used for the same purpose, but it's less common.

Great information. Is it better to wet down the concrete first or spray on dry concrete? Thanks!

Not a bad price

So to keep it super simple 1) Get 10% chlorinating liquid 2) Open up the gallon and put 1 ounce of dishwasher soap in (as long as the soap says on back it's safe for use with bleach) 3) Stick my pressure washer "sucky tube" doo-hickey into the gallon 4) Hook garden hose up to pressure washer and let er rip Main reason for asking is confirming that my pressure washer will automatically suck out the right amount of mix to inject into my garden hose feed. Wasn't sure if I needed to do more formal measuring and apply with something else?

You are correct except the soap may not say safe for bleach. Just get dawn and look for the bottle that does NOT say do not use bleach.

Hey I'm looking for cheap sucky hose lol, did you buy the cheap down stream ejector of Amazon?

What ratio would you use in a foamer?

The regular bleach that I have is 7.5% sodium hypochlorite. You can use this 7.5% and have the same concentration of bleach in your final product if you use 2.66 cups of the 7.5% bleach instead of 2 cups of the 10% bleach.

Right… but it costs more. The pool essentials is usually less expensive than overly marketed bleach and goes farther. Thanks bud!

Is dawn the only soap you use with your sodium hypochlorite
@DansVlog2 жыл бұрын
It is. I tried car wash for the uv protection theory but it doesn’t clean like dawn

Would this be ok to clean Hardie wood, cement board panels? Also can I make a solution and use it without a pressure washer? What would the solution mix be per gallon of water?

so a question i REALLY hope you will answer despite this video being 2 years old. So, 10% pool chlorine liquid. 1 ounce of soap (laundry detergent, i presume). BUT i still fail on understanding the mixture ratio. You see, i assume, you will mix it with water, right? Or are you just running that bottle PURE on the walls? as in, you get a 5 gallon bucket, you throw in the pool chlorine liquid and the soap, and you just pump that straight on the surface? or do you mix it? i mean isn't like 5 gallons for example like GONE in just a few seconds? but, if you were to mix that with water - wouldn't that drop the 10% to like 5% if you'd run 10 gallons? so 5 gallons of water and 5 gallons of pool chlorine liquid?

You need to watch a lot more videos. I can’t possibly teach you everything in a comment thread lol.

Soap and 10 percent is what you add without adding any water to dilute?
@alkilgore81703 жыл бұрын
If you are downstreaming pure 10% s h what is the mix out of the wand ? are you using a xjet or ? are there restrictors in the line? Just starting out n need some help. Thank you

Can you use this 10% straight on concrete as a post treatment? Or should it be diluted?
@DansVlog2 жыл бұрын
S hi oils be diluted but if you put chems down on a surface that can run off, you risk violating the clean water act. Any chemicals running into storm drains MUST be contained. The rinse water MUST remain on the property or captured and disposed of

Making the complex understandable. Thanks.

I’m running a ryobi 2.3gpm pressure washer with a downstream chemical injector. Will it still be ok to run the chlorinating liquid straight or would you suggest diluting it in the 5 gallon bucket? Thanks!
