I love how detailed your videos are! Have you done the grinch by chance? I’m debating ordering this paint . I’m painting the grinch in my 4 year old nephew and was told mehron paradise paints are glycerin based. I don’t know what I’m doing fully and Would love to see a tutorial on how you’d do this look! Love your videos!

Hello. I did the Grinch in my early days (2018), but it was before i started to do KZbin tutorials. So i don't have a KZbin tutorial about it, but you can see the pictures on my Instagram account : instagram.com/p/BrgfOCdHvRQ/?img_index=1. Regarding the colors i used, i am pretty sure i used Amazon Green for the base color, Dark green for the shading and Lime for the highlights. I also used black for the other details. I stopped doing makeup tutorials, so i will not do one for the Grinch. It may not be what you were looking for, but i hopes it still helps you nonetheless. Thanks !

Yayyy you made a color mixing video... and it's so thorough. This is so helpful. I've been trying to figure out a good way to mix the cream makeup as well and you really came through. You could definitely be a teacher with the way you explain things. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a great day!

Thank you! I am doing makeup for a high school play and I need to do several different animals, so I want to be able to blend colors, especially for the lion. This will help a lot!

This might be a strange question, but what if you cut up the cakes of two different pans and put them in an empty pan, so they were right next to each other? Then you could mix it in that pan and not worry about contaminating the leftover parts of the original pans, and you could keep the ratio more or less the same. Would that work, or is that a bad idea?

Hello ! It's not a strange idea at all. You can actually buy bodypaint packaged that way, where you have lines of multiple colors next to each other. They are called splitcakes and they are commonly used by facepainters at children parties. One example is the "Mehron paradise prisma". They are generally used to make easy gradiant of colors by packing two colors (or more) on a large brush. They can be also good to have a middle color with a consistent ratio. I know some people make their own splicakes and you can find tutorials on how to do it by searching "how to make your own splitcake face paint". It may be a little bit messy, but it can be done Otherwise, i never tried it, but i thought about it too. I think it would work and be a good idea for colors that I mix often together. Hope this helps !

@@MonsterJayart Thank you so much for replying! I looked up splitcake face paint tutorials, and as you said, pretty much all of the videos were using them for gradients. However, I’m trying to mix paints to get a consistent color for my skin and match some gloves I’m using for cosplay, so I’m worried using a splitcake would make it uneven. Do you know any examples of people using splitcakes specifically for mixing the colors consistently? I just don’t want to go cutting up my makeup if it would actually be better to mix on the skin or in the original pans. Let me know what you think. Thank you for your help!

@@silviamayo2993 Hello. If you want to cover a large area with two colors together, mixing in the pan or using a splitcake may not be the best option. Here's the three main options - You can find two colors that need to be mixed let say 50/50, apply one layer of the first one and then apply one layer of the second one one top of the other and mixing them one the skin, pretty much like i said in the video - You can the paint out of the puck with two colors, crush them into a paste, mix them together and put the fused color back in the pucks. Try this method with smaller amount of paint first. This method is more experimental and messy, i have never tried it myself, but i know it exists. It's not my favorite since it can be costly and you may still not get the desired result - When we talk about covering the body and not just the face, liquid makeup is often the best option. With liquid makeup. it is also easier to get the right ratio of colors and make more paint of the desired color as needed afterwards. Liquid makeup is what is used by people who do airbrush bodypaint. Mehron also make liquid makeup and i used it a couple of time. Even if it's liquid, it's still "water-activated", in the sense that once it dried, you can reactivate it with water and mix it again, like with regular water-activated makeup. It may have less coverage than water-activated makeup, but you can apply more than one layer if you need a better coverage My suggestion to mix two colors consistenly would be that if you cannot mix it on skin with an easy ratio like i showed in the video, then go with liquid makeup. Creating your own color by crushing the solid paint and mixing them together could work well, but it will end up being more costly and wasteful than going with liquid makeup Hope this helps !
