Manual concrete mixing
Mixing concrete manually is a rather physically laborious process. This process can be facilitated by optimizing the sequence of operations during the batch.
This is how I do it.
Proportions of concrete: 1 part cement, 3 parts sand and 5 parts crushed stone. I will measure the required amount with the help of buckets.
I pour 2 buckets of sand.
I pour a bucket of cement on the sand.
Add another bucket of sand on top and mix this pile.
On a mixed pile of cement with sand, I pour 2 buckets of rubble and again mix the resulting pile. I mix 1 time, passing in a circle the whole bunch.
Then pour 3 more buckets of gravel on top and mix again.
I rake a heap and prepare in the center a hole into which I will pour water.
I fill in a bucket of water and immediately begin to rake in the batch, filling the inside of the pit with the mixture I take along the edges of the heap.
On one side of the heap, I thoroughly mix the resulting concrete and produce 2 buckets of the solution.
After that, the heap decreases, and kneading it becomes easier.
Now I knead completely all the remaining concrete. I add water as needed.
Observing this sequence of actions, it turns out to mix more high-quality and well-mixed concrete, with the lowest labor costs.
