I use white water-based substrate glue to glue the rubber down with and yes, we installed a 2 x 4 all around the entire edge and then install the aluminum metal trim. Very easy to do good luck on your project and if there’s any other way I can help I have a phone number you could always call I don’t mind helping somebody

I did a double wide years ago & we screwed down insulation board & glued down Carlisle rubber/ I’m not knocking your plywood method but I feel insulated board is a lot easier

With such a small overhang yes the 2 x 4 is fine and it will not warp Pete. I have had people say that it would warp, but I’ve never had one yet.

No because they haven’t put my trolling motor on there they still have to get the trailer to put the boat on. So they told me I could have the boat and take it I told him I didn’t want it until it was 100% complete. So I guess now the guy that is working on my boat is in Florida buying a mold for other boats. He is a boat builder and he uses molds to build his boat. But now still not in my boat even though they told me I could take it I said I’m not taking it until it is 100%. Do you blame me

Do you ever put foam insulation sheets underneath the osb? To give the roof a little more insulating properties.

No, actually we put the insulation on top of the OSB not under it and then we put the rubber over the insulation board. It’s called high density board or HD board.

1175 miles from me. That’s a trip. 620 miles is our max so far. I’m very glad you like us. I’m not sure exactly what’s under your metal but if it’s OSB yes if it’s just strapping probably not. I don’t know exactly what your situation is I haven’t seen it so I can’t give you a perfect answer unfortunately but generally you can put singles or metal.

Why would you go to shingle? I had a roof over with metal and just by coincidence my insurance company cam e a week later and took pictures. They loved the roof. And my premium went down $300 a year.

Hey Drew. Can EPDM be glued directly to a metal roof that has the cool seal on it, or does it have to be clean metal?

Let’s put it this way. The very first roof I ever did had been cool sealed several times even by myself I still couldn’t ever get it to quit leaking. Finally, the lady asked me if I could put a rubber roof on her house. I told her to be honest I wasn’t sure how to do it and that I would look it up. That’s when I got to learn how to navigate KZbin real well because I wanted to learn how to do this product, so I watched a lot of videos went back to her house told her I could do it I put the EP DM, Rubber Roof right over the top of her. Cool Seal and Roof terminated it in the Gutter area where I did on my videos if you watch them from quite a few years ago and it never liked again so the answer to that is yes will it be as good of a roof no, will it last 20 years probably
