In this video I take you and show you how I did the mod on my SCX10 dually for a more scale look. It took me awhile to get the right setup and to have it working just right. There are other ways you could do this mod but this is what worked for me. If you have any questions please ask, like, comment and subscribe. Pretty cool rig. I never gave a dually much thought until I did it myself to my Trailfinder. I have a 6x6 and the extra axle really increases the offroad performance quite a bit. I didn't think a single axle with dually wheel would help much but I love it. Duallys in the rear are awesome.

Get some long screws and a extra set of wheels. Drill out the center hex area of the outer one so you can get your axle nut on. The middle one will be what your axle hex goes to. Use just the rim and not the beadlock. The inner wheel will need the center cut out so the outer part of the axle will clear. Drill through the inner and middle rims. Install the long scews and they'll pull it all together threading into the outer rim. No coupler and losing your outer wheel.

I have a question for you being there is a joint almost at the wheel end and only one bearing do you have an issue with the truck looking like it has camber on the rear meaning is the rear tires as ridged as they are on a stock axle also I noticed the spacers that you used to keep the spacing correct between the wheels what actually drives the outside wheels? thanks for your time and good idea

Mod is permanent yes. But I love the dually look and have a separate build of a non dually truck planned. But yes looks a lot better for sure.

Easy to do thx for showing us. As i was sitting here i thought about using Wraith front axles you would need two short sides but you only gain about a 1/4" per side, both sides for a total of just under a half. In some cases i guess it might work. Have you got any other axles that have worked? Besides the losi

I have thought about wraith axles on the front but then i thought might be to wide for me to try and keep a scale look. No have not tried other axles other then many failed attempts. Only thing Lodi are the drive shaft itself.

This is a Axial 1/10 SCX10 Honcho. Wheels, axles, chassis, etc. It is all a SCX10 model. Only mods done is what you have seen and if it works on my SCX10 then yes it will work on your SCX10 and everyone elses.

Looked like the outer dually wheels don't have a 12mm hex behind them to offer real grip...like they're just gonna be turning because if the friction from the screw holding it to the extension. Do you have plans to use a 12mm hex on the outside wheels?

No plans to use a 12mm hex because they work perfectly fine the way they are. With the amount of friction they are on strong just like they normally would be on the hex and they offer a lot of grip. Just make sure its on tight. Add some blue locktite and your laughing. Been running it like this for years and never had an issue.

hi I saw your rear shocks r mounted straight to your frame and not on your shock mounts was wondering what kind of shock they r so I can do the same cuz I want to put a flat bed on my scx-10.

They are actually the stock shocks that came with the truck 4 years ago when I bought it. I just took the springs off for a droop setup. Doing it like this and mounting to the chassis itself gave it a little bit more height and better flex and way less rolling the truck over.

Yah, this is a neat mudder, perhaps, but not a proper dualie/dually**. Though as a mudder i have to wonder how long that screw holding the halves together will last. ** There is some variety in the alignment between Ford/Chevy/Dodge/Etc. but generally you are spot on, and none of them look like the model above. But then, the RC community is forever making 'School Bus' rigs that are straight 4X4s, so it seems like the definition of dualie is hiding in plain sight.

On my F650 flatbed tow truck, my front wheel spacing was the same as my outside rear dual spacing. Basically meaning the front wheels were wider than most normal vehicles, and the inner dual would be further in than the front tires. The outside duals and the front steer tires were on the same path.

+DribbleGamingTV I did the same thing only with scx10 rear diff and wraith front diff. same thing no cutting, I made it work with hex spacers on the front. axial makes hex spacers so does rc4wd

I had to do a drop setup for my suspension or else the tires would rub on the chassis when it would flex and it would also rub on the shocks.

Cheaper to modify rims. There is so much tress coming to those bearings, as there is uniball joint that i doubt it will last long like this. You can get it last if done properly by modifying stock style hard axle, but like i said one harder jump and that axle is probably dead/cracked.
