@onlysimulation92193 жыл бұрын
You May go to Data Sets in the Results tree, Right click, select Cut point 2D. Create a point with x and y coordinates. Then Right click Results click 1d plot group. Select point graph from the 1d plot group. Select the cut point 2d , from the settings window. Plot .Temp vs Time graph at that point.

Can you please explain how can i add a Pulse train (Multi pulse sequence) of the equation T(t)= ∑n i= 1 (exp(-4*log10((t-2*tp-(i-1)^2)*Δ/(tp)))) as analytic continuous function of the Gaussian pulse train in comsol. Rather using a rect pulse or mod operator like in your demo. Here tp is pulse duration , n is the pulse number in a train and Δ denotes the temporal separation between pulses in a train. Thank you.

@@anshusahu9059 ...Great. I'm glad you are able to create the simulation, that's all that matters, that's what the tutorial is for. The reproducibility of the outcomes is dependent on a variety of factors (i.e. Material properties, mesh sensitivity analysis, time step, etc.). So, that's the next step of improving your simulation. Good luck with your simulation!!

Hiii, I am working on heat transfer in solids(Plastics) with two materials to be joined by lap joint welding having upper material as transparent and the other one as opaque..can you help me how to give heat flux to the upper material,so that the maximum heat can be obtained at the interface of two materials. Thank You
@chemicalsimulationcorner3 жыл бұрын
You can apply the heat flux along the line of the weld as you would to in real life. The best way to do this is to fix one position of you heat source and then let the other be dependent on your welding speed or velocity. E.g. For a 2D moving heat source problem: Y_position = Any value where the weld will be = 2 cm, X_position = Starting position (X) + (Weld velocity)x(time) = Xo+v*t. Say the starting position = 0, then X_position=v*t Your heat source will move along the x-axis at the rate of the welding speed. The energy input will be up to you. So, your heat flux can be similar to the one demonstrated here. However, what you will change is the velocity, starting positions on the y-axis and x-axis.

@@chemicalsimulationcorner Thank you for the reply...actually for 2D laser heating,the laser heat flux is moving in given direction...but in 3D model if i have to move the laser heat flux in circular direction,i am unable to move the heat flux(or i am unable to select the circular path). hello, how to model nanosecond laser heating of silicon in Comsol multiphysics?
@chemicalsimulationcorner3 жыл бұрын
You can use this model to do that. Just change the material and the pulse duration to nanosecond. You can download the article shown in the description. It'll give you the guidelines as well. If you are still unable to, please feel free to contact us at info@nemantu.co.za, we can take the conversation further.

@@chemicalsimulationcorner You means I can change the pulse width to nanosecond
@chemicalsimulationcorner3 жыл бұрын
@@gulshaniqbal5988 ....yes....and other parameters (scan speed, material properties, beam diameter, beam standard deviation) relevant to your project ofcos. But yes, change the pulse with and repetition rate (f) mainly. For nanosecond lasers, repetition rate is usually higher than it is demonstrated here (10 - 50 kHz maybe?). I'd like to assume that your pulse energy is a bit lower than demonstrated here too (i.e. 0.1- 10 mJ maybe?). Edit those to start with.

@@chemicalsimulationcorner One more question I haven't seen the wavelength (λ) and material of laser used in the project. Can you please specify., In my project i will be using λ=1064 nm
@chemicalsimulationcorner3 жыл бұрын
@@gulshaniqbal5988 ....Wavelength definitely matters in the model if you are modeling wave optics as well in COMSOL. We'll demonstrate that too in future demos. For now, focusing on heat transfer effects and fluid flow is a good place to start in your project. In a way, wave optics are more of a luxury you'll add only if that is part of your scope (i.e. if you'll study the effects of different wavelengths or beam alignment or focus, etc.). If you don't include it, no one will discredit your work either.
