It’s very rewarding when you do something yourself and it comes out fantastic 👍 . Luke Towen also has excellent tree videos too 😊 . Great Job !

Great tutorial on making your own trees that turned out awesome TR! I've been watching weathering videos and doing my own rolling stock w rust and graffiti! Like you I'm very happy with the results so far. It adds a special effect that they've been in service quite a while. Thanks again for sharing your videos with us and look fwd to seeing the next one!

The trees turned out great! I've watched a number of methods for making trees, this is one of the better ones. With only 25% use of my left hand, I usually just buy trees. I have made a few using woodland scenic armatures, they turned out okay.

Love those trees! Beats having to buy a 2 pack of woodland scenics trees for $26. Awesome stuff, I really can't wait for you to add DCC to that Dash 9 Locomotive. Another suggestion for a locomotive (I know I have them all the time..) is a SD70ACe or like a modern GEVO Like a ES44AC Or something like that. I like seeing the more modern locomotives on layouts because it always adds realism. I would also love to see a ATSF or BNSF Painted SW1 or something similar because those locomotives are so awesome. Great episode & can't wait for next week!

Thanks man! So true it’s a lot more cost effective. Same here, I’d love to see the Dash 9 actually running. I love the suggestions! I would love to get any of those models to be honest. SD70ACes are always beautiful
@BNSF14582 жыл бұрын
@Top Railroad Yeah SD70ACes are. An SD75M would also be awesome, or a GP60M or a BN SD60M Numbered 1458- Okay I could go on forever but I'll stop now 😂 so many awesome locomotives.

Great video mate. Those trees look AMAZING!!!!. I love how you used a saw dust materail to represent the wood of the tree that's a great idea. Great job again. - Nicholas.

I love the tree idea and it seems more of a budget optionI was at my local hobby shop and I saw a set of three Woodland scenics trees for $18 and it’s surprising to see how detailed and amazing these budget trees look

Lol ok just caught the end where you did the end snips!! I gotta try this over the weekend for my North Eastern schemed layout, but Douglas firs won't fit in but I'll check out some Eastern pines. to shape up.
@TopRailroad2 жыл бұрын
Cool! You can easily shape these into a different species of tree!

Awesome Awesome!!! Those trees lookin really good. Easy but tedious , you've got it down and the process speeds up with practice. The many loops that you've created sure gives you many branches, try snipping the ends of the loops which gives you many more branches.

Congrats on 3K. I think an SD9/GP9 Would be epic on the layout for an additional switcher. That BN GP(Whatever), An SW1 and a SD9. Seems like a decent amount & variety of switchers.
@TopRailroad2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! I would agre any of those would be great. If only DCC was more affordable haha
@richardwatkins948710 ай бұрын
Your trees need a "branch" going straight up from the top end. This is called the "terminal bud". In nature, no terminal bud means the tree can no longer grow. Other than that they look great

Wow! Really cool technique. I was curious though, could the static applicator be used if it was hooked up to the wires of the branches? Would that make the pine needles stick out straight? Would it even work? 🌲🚂😺👍
