CST-610EVL is the twin cylinder i believe. I think rocky mountain chainsaw has one with dual expansion pipes, sounds wild in the videos.

HI DONNY 😊😊 theres a school.trick I learned years ago about keeping your hands warm U put a pair of cotton gloves 🧤 😊 on then put a pair rubber gloves on 2 that will keep your hands warm 😊😊 on old school chainsaws U take the sparkplug out and dry it off put your finger over the sparkplug whole and put the sparkplug back.hook the sparkplug wire try again also the switch has 2 be on 😊😊 OMG 12 13 2O23

Great info Mr Walker. The new Echo's are definitely a quality product. I bought a 4910 for my son in law and after a quick tank of fuel, we threw on a GearHead exhaust deflector and shaved the limiters for a re-tune. That thing feels awesome. We've got eight saws total (a bit of everything), and the 4910 feels as if they put a lot of R&D time into these. The 7310/4910 both appear to be high-value/price saws for sure. I'm wondering why they wouldn't just have brought over the SX versions of these two and just called it a day (?).

Fun show, buddy. My paw in-law has run Echo saws for many years and has a few in his shop I’m going to talk him out of. Through you, I’ve kinda learned what to look for when checking out an older saw.

Love the info Donnie. Can't wait for the dynamic timing demo. I have always wondered if there is a method for static timing of E ignition like we did on points systems in the olden days. Maybe you can explain dwell as well.

I REALLY like mine. Here’s a strange thing that I’ve NEVER ran into on any of the other saws that I’ve got: it’s definitely NOT stingy on bar oil. It puts out so much that I had to turn MINE all the way DOWN to minimum or it runs out BEFORE I run out of fuel! I tried everything that I could think of, but it still gets more than enough lube to the b/c on min, so I’m happy enough. 372XP I run on max oil. CS550P I run on max oil. 365XT I run on max. 501P, gotta run on min. 😮 Oh well, just goes to show that those machines are “similar” to people: they are NOT all the same, just close !

@@ToddAdams1234 I’ve noticed the same thing on mine , immediately turned all the way up before even starting saw for first time , got saw running grabbed some cardboard to make sure decent oil out on end of bar and wow it was a mess , turned all the way down as well. I’m only running a 16” bar on it so that could be part of it, 🤷🏻‍♂️ too much is better than not enough. I did a poor man’s muffler mod and seemed to like it , hauled them stupid screw stops out. I did notice it’s eating some fines though , leaves abit to be desired for air filter quality imo

I've got the CS-590 and really liking it for what little I've got to run it. I would've ran more but a busted up knee kept me out if commission for a good bit. I've been looking at the 7310 and really like what I've heard from the videos that I've seen. Loved this vid too! Thank you for doing these!!

Hi Donny, I have my late dad's Mobilco Echo CS60S, s/no 0051201, I would say bought late 60's or early 70's, I'm guessing not run for 20 years until 6 months ago I had a go at it, it ran but 4 stroked constantly, probably needs a carb kit, I just wanted to see if it still goes. I likely won't use it, a bit heavy for the cc's, very solid unit, I don't want to wreck it.

Your timing was great Donny, just mounted my cannon adapter and wcs dogs today and was scratching my head about the adapter not having a retaining screw

Hey donny are you gonna be doing saws over the Christmas break? I just got the call last week my name is up on the list to get the whole works on my echo 620pw. I'm not sure if it will make it all the way out there before the 23rd. I'm excited to see what you can do with it.

A month or two back, I think you mentioned you had one of the new Echo 4010 homeowner saws in that you were going to do some work to. I'm curious if you have any thoughts on it and how did it turn out?
@ToddAdams1234
@ToddAdams1234 9 ай бұрын
Donny, why don’t you just take more off of the base when you machine, that way you could still run a gasket instead? I’m really curious and would like to know.
@donnywalker4691
@donnywalker4691 9 ай бұрын
Well if you take to much off base then you got to watch clearance around cylinder mounting such as flywheel and other things it’s just what I like to do and it works for me

If you were looking for a farm saw and a saw to process lots of firewood, oak, pecan, birch etc, every year would you choose a husky 572 or the 7310 when it comes to reliability first and power second?

I’ve got a question that I’d like to have input from ANYONE. Instead of advancing the ignition timing, why don’t we just run a lower octane (but STILL non-ethanol) fuel? I’d like to think that it’s a non machining quick fix AND it’d be less expensive. I CAN get 87oct non-eth locally, but I know that it’s likely not available everywhere.
