I wanted to add. That I've been model building for a long time off & on. Learned some pretty neat tricks such as a couple of things you've presented here. another is using white / canopy glue to create windows on tanks. I love the guitar string trick as well. I've used it with a couple of other modern tanks I've built before. as well as stretched sprue.

Very nice. There are so many easy tricks that dress a kit up and cost almost nothing.

@@Ricks135scalemodels I agree . I am currently working on both an M-48 Patton and a A Version of a Panther Tank. The Panther is a Tamiya Kit. The Patton is a Monogram.
@Ricks135scalemodels2 жыл бұрын
Oh man. You are brave to build that monogram m48. I built that back in the 70s. The hull is hell to build yet that kit I'd still out on the market.

@@Ricks135scalemodels yeah thier were some for issues. But I managed to get them worked out. It's looking pretty decent. Though I forgot to put the little rubber washer for the turret into place before closing it up. So now the turret is free floating. Instead of being locked into the upper deck.

What are you using to secure the copper wiring used on the fenders? Also, what’s being used for the tow cable bracket?
@Ricks135scalemodels2 жыл бұрын
I used CA glue "Krazy glue". The white parts are thin styrene sheets. The attachment for the tow cable on the front is also thin styrene bent.
@dennisgraham2447 Жыл бұрын
How did you secure the fender tension bar on the model. ? I am attempting to build a pair for mine. So beides the two straps on top, did you glue the wire to the model?
@Ricks135scalemodels Жыл бұрын
I did but I also took a thin piece of styrene and glued it where the hasp or what ever it is is. I mashed the edges to it looked welded.
