These shunters are great 👍 And they have diesel sound without DCC 🙂 Adding extra weight can make it run even better. Adding couplings isn't to difficult too. These shunters are freely inspired on an American prototype, but Lima made a lot of different liveries. Good video!

The loco is an HO scale model of an American Plymouth 0-4-0DE industrial switcher. In real life, there is also an 0-6-0DE version.

The same shunters - lovingly referred to as critters among hobbyists here in the US - were Americanized and sold here in the 1970s and 80s (and probably right up to today thanks to eBay). They can be improved with new phosphorus bronze wipers and renewing the wiring. A keep-alive circuit for DC would be worth looking into if she loses power on the points - short wheelbase and unpowered frogs can be incompatible, especially at scale speeds. Overall, these are wonderful little machines that need no more than a bit of TLC to keep them running for decades.

I am away from the station for a while. I don’t recall if there is a screw on the underside and if not you need to gently pry the body off. If you look at the back you can see how the body is cut around the buffers to enable the body to slip on/off.

I was wondering that. I just got one yesterday and thought the screws underneath did it but they just loosen the motor! Currently cleaning the crud off the wheels...
