Great advice here as alwasy. I modify my fins to enable better foot placement when drop knee riding. Highly recommend MS vipers for this as very comfy and powerful, widely available etc. I trim the points off as found i tend to catch a rail when bringing my foot round.

I have a new set of snorkeling fins with adjustable straps. Cut them back or don’t bother?

Can you do this with any type of fins? I bought a pair of hydro tech 2 fins. Would cutting them help so I don’t have to walk backwards w them or will I still have to walk backwards? I never understood the purpose of why they make them so u have to walk backwards. What was the purpose????

Yes, you can modify any fins, but the more blade you chop off, the less power you'll get from them.

Also with the hydro tech fins what do most people do put the fins on before u enter the water or wait until u get in the ocean then throw them on? Funny story. First time I ever wore the hydro techs I didn’t know u had to walk backwards so I walked normal into the water and fell facedown into the water. Haha
