I've been back and forth over 20 years, relaxed vs natural. I will say styling is way easier with a relaxer. And moisturizing exactly as you are doing is essential! It drinks it up because the top protective coating has been stripped by the relaxer. So relaxed hair is essentially dryer. And the way you are handling your hair with kid gloves is also the way relaxed hair should be handled. Gently and carefully. You're doing ALL the right things! I've flipped again back to natural. Yes it's fluffy and frizzy. But what I like is being able to run a comb and brush through my hair as fast and rough as I please with no breakage. No heat either. Just letting it do what it wants. For now! Lol Well see by new new year...🤷♀️

My moisturizing tip? Shampoo! Lol For the last two months I’ve shampooed my hair every 4-5 days and the results are as different as night and day. My hair feels like silk. The reason for the frequent shampoos is bc I don’t put a lot of product on my hair, so this is how it gets its moisture from the water/shampoo. right now I just use jojoba oil after I roller set my hair and dry on a low heat setting. My hair used to get so dry and brittle and would break off easily. My next touch up is in Feb, which I get every 4 months, and I’ll re-evaluate my process then. Btw I just ordered the S Curl you mentioned:) You looked like an Indian twisting your hair. It’s beautiful.

Your hair is always beautiful I love it I get this asked of me all the time about moisture, dryness now I'm getting asked about gels because a lot of people think that I put hair styling gel on my hair and I do not it's just that I just keep my scalp and my hair moisturized. Either with my moisture mix that I make myself or either the s-curl these are the number to moisturizers that I love to use especially in the summertime. I've found what works best for me is using the lotta body 5-in-one treatment followed by argan oil to seal. The 5-in-one works as a heat protectant as well so it protects your hair if you decide to give it a quick flow out, like i usually do on wash days, and from the harsh rays of the sun as you go about on your daily activities.

Hey lady! I just entered back into relaxed world, and I in the past enjoyed your videos. So, I ventured off on trying to go natural for the millionth time, and I just could not do it. The transitioning is like the worst, and I admit I am lazy with my hair. So, now I’m left with shorter hair, because it broke off so much during the transition process. So, now I realize my hair could’ve been so long if I had not gone back and forth on my decisions. I actually have been feeling guilty about relaxing my hair, because I feel like I am not accepting the curls God gave me. I remember you had your sister on, and she’s natural and how you guys both have beautiful hair. I know you don’t hate your natural hair just because you relax. For me it’s easier for me to do since I don’t like styling my hair, and natural hair for me requires a lot more styling and time. I just don’t have the patience for it. I do like your routine and I do use a similar method over the years for my relaxed hair. I have tried that S curl activator and it is a good product. I will have to try again. Love you lovely! ❤️🥰
@StyleDomination4 жыл бұрын
MistyRose Lulu You’re welcome! Thank you so much for this comment. Sometimes I feel guilty too about not being natural, especially when the occasional naturalista tried to shame me for my hair decisions. But relaxed hair just works for me. I’m finally at a point where I can wholeheartedly accept that. Take care and cheers to your “new” hair journey!

Style Domination...Thank you for your reply! It means so much to me! I’m glad I’m not alone in feeling that guilt part, but when you start to see how great your hair responds to the care that you give it, and the easier maintenance (relaxed pros) the guilt like fades away! You can actually have long and healthy relaxed hair period! It’s not unattainable or impossible! Thanks again for responding! ❤️🥰❤️
