If you make a mold that you need to cut (like for the guns) try the "sorta clear" it works great for knowing where to make your seams.

Beautiful work. What did u use to pain on the cast so it doesn't stick together?
@joseestrada68104 жыл бұрын
You should try Rebound 25 it's a brush on silicone and you don't need to use as much. And if you use it with a hardener like Thy-vex. It allows for more control of the thickness so you don't end up with a block of silicone.
@CMPLFixes4 жыл бұрын
Yeah this was my first mold. I have a bunch of rebound 25 to do brush on molds coming up. Thanks for watching!!!!

Hey Claymakers can I use a dishwashing liquid to paste on one half of the mold so when I pour the second it doesn't stick.

Very curious to see how they handle the jet pack in season 2 because realistically he will just need to jet pack away in every fight but I don’t see them doing that. Plus I bet it takes a lot of budget to film scenes such as the tie fighter scene at the end.

Hello! excellent video, thanks for showing us your talent. I have a question, is it the same using dense plaster instead of silicone? the plaster is cheap and easy to use having a good register quality. Am i right?

Hi, can you recommend a liquid release agent to prevent the two parts of the rubber mold from sticking together?
@waynepye51184 жыл бұрын
Fantastic! What make of resin did you use? I'd love to start making casts of my own sculptures but wasn't sure which resin to use. Thanks for sculpting the Mandalorian it's been brilliant!
@CMPLFixes4 жыл бұрын
amzn.to/30VhKlf that is the resin. It sets up in about 10 mins. You have to work fast though. I starts to set in about 3 mins.
@cclive81793 жыл бұрын
When you poured the second round of silicone did you use any type of mold release on it?
@CMPLFixes3 жыл бұрын
I used a clear coat spray so the silicone halves wouldn't stick to each other.

can i use this technique on sculptures made from monster clay or oil based clay? im wondering if the plastilene would stick to it
@CMPLFixes2 жыл бұрын
monster clay is purpose build for silicone molds so you should have no problem there :)
@3DPlasticFantasy4 жыл бұрын
That was so amazing and satisfying to watch. Is it required to use primer before paint on clay or its optional ?
@CMPLFixes4 жыл бұрын
Honestly I have not noticed any difference between priming and no priming. At least when it comes to the paint sticking or not.

Was this fully baked when you cut into it? When you do a preliminary bake, so you can add details to it. Is it a full 30 minutes bake each time? Thanks
@CMPLFixes4 жыл бұрын
Yes it was baked when I cut into it. Baked sculpey carves and sands very well. And yes I do a full 30 mins each time. But I will lower the temp to 250F

So can you just keep baking this stuff even with paint on? I remember my mum using fimo years ago and if it was baked to much it could go brown and brittle, some parts of this have been baked several times now
@CMPLFixes4 жыл бұрын
If it is thick enough you can bake it a lot without a problem. If its thin it will start to crack, but when I do a lot of bakes I will lower the temp to around 250F

Hey. I see you are using foil to separate parts. PVA glue is much better for this. First you apply several layers and let it dry. Then you sculpt the desired detail right on it. To seal, you just need to place the figurine under warm water. The glue will soften and the part will come off easily.
