Great lesson. Even not only for owners of a horse.

My horse is very forward when ridden, but difficult to get started at the longe. So I stopped using the longe whip and I am surprised how more motivated my horse is. Longe work is something he hates. I tried to make more interesting and use toys (trottpoles etc.), because I cannot give him ridden workout every single day (and he doesnt have to, he 19 years old now). Then I threw the whip away and tried only with my voice. Big surprise 😳 13 years with this pony and he still teaches me new things every day.

Thank you so much for your kind words Kellie! Yes this is so important to get right and definitely something humans don`t do from self, we are after all tactile beings. Horse handling is all about our feet not our hands 😆👍✨

Thank you so much for your kind words Charlotte! I constantly have to keep an eye on myself regarding this too. We humans are tactile beings, it`s easier when training without a lead rope 😆

I really like this. I have never heard it described this way before and I am guilty! I’m going to try to be more mindful.

Thank you so much for your kind words, you just made my day! I think that if we don`t truly acknowledge horses as flight animals we will never truly connect with them. They can do so much form own choice and from self, if we allow them ❤

Hi Katrine Love when you are a bi**h 🥳🥳🥳, I do see the difference in the 2 ways to make your horse move around in a circle/moving forward, but in my opinion, you are still, putting a lot of pressure on the horse, in the first way. What will happens , if you just stand in the same spot ? No whip ? Im sooo curious 😍😍

I like better to walk with them in a circle in the middle than just stand . To go together with the horse than just stand, spinning might be an option. We are not there yet cause even if he does what he is told he is not very forward. That is what I am working on

I understand, that he needs *help*, to be forward in the arena, but I wonder , what he will do, if your position is not behind him, but closer, to his frontleg ? 🌷🌷
