How to Mount the Garmin InReach Mini 2 on the Giant Loop Tracker Packer (Yes, They Are Compatible)

I have a carabiner attached and attached to my camelbak. I also have a velcro wrap around the InReach to keep it from flopping around

Can you use the packer tracker to hold a Zoleo ? Zoleo is half the cost of the Garmin unit.

Yes, we have a video for how to install the Zoleo on the spot tracker packer. Takes a little modification to the velcro and you need the accessory belt clip.

Is there any reason why you couldn’t keep it in a pocket? On an adventure style jacked for instance.

You could. But what if your only wearing body armor and a jersey?

It's all personal preference. I've put mine in my pocket and let everyone know it's there so they know where to look, just in case.

@@MotoCampNerd most people I see with them wear them on pack straps, was just curious if there was any particular reason beside the obvious lack of pockets or visibility. Seems like a good product could be some kind of flag you could put on it or on a pocket to notify its presence in a pocket. Seems like that would be handy if someone happened upon you after an accident. 🤔

@@jyoung488 Yep, mostly for visibility, ease of access, and not taking up pocket space. I've thought about the flag idea having the Garmin or Zoleo in my pocket and have the red flag hanging out of the pocket with SOS on it.

I used to rock my PLB up high near my shoulder until a really good wipeout. It may as well have been a brick, it made its way around my chest protector and contused my chest. IMHO it's better to keep it low in a pocket near abdomen.

does anyone make or recommend a way to carry my inreach messenger on my person? all these mounts are for the trendy mini and mini 2, while the messenger is left behind!

We just started carrying the messenger and I'm going to experiment and see what we can come up with. Due to it's size it might be a better pocket carry device with red sos pull tag hanging from the pocket. Just brainstorming ideas.

@@MotoCampNerd I am also looking for ideas for carrying my messenger. Currently keeping it in my chest pocket on my jacket, but with summer coming , all I'll have is my USWE hydration pack.

Instead of buying the spine mount, I just punched a hole in the tracker packer that lined up with the mounting screw on the inReach and used the included carabiner loop bolt thing.
