Problem is, most apps won't allow you to move them onto the card. Bought an SD card and formatted for internal storage basically for nothing. Only freed up maybe 1 GB. Still using 27.86 of 32 GB of storage. But, your video on how to do it was great and very easy. Bravo.

Many devices won't allow you to move app to sd card unless you format you sd card for internal storage. I can solve your problem. First, go to settings->system->developer options, slide down until saw "force allow apps on external", turn it on and restart you phone. Now you can move any app to sd card unless system apps;)

I did all this and moved around 8 - 10 gigs to SD card 256 Gigs. A month later the apps all moved back to internal storage!

Nope. Card is already formatted as internal storage on my Moto G4 (Android 7) and it stores a few things there. There is NO option given to move an app there. Been through this exercise a dozen times or more. Phone is showing only about 5% storage used but I have to delete one or more of the two dozen apps showing on my screen every time I want to load something new.

Go to developer options and check the setting for "move to external" it will be about midway through all the available settings.

Some of us use them mostly as telephones and for text but sometimes apps are required to do business. Planned obsolescence is annoying and, on some level, immoral. Hate to tell you how old my laptop is, and it works great.

Great information. However, your presentation could improve 50% if you shoot a close up of your phone because the text on your phone is too small to read, even when viewing at 1080p. And then slow down as you talk to allow your diction to sound more clearly because your Puerto Rican accent distorts some of your words. I had to listen 4 times to get your meaning. Except for photos and media you can't store apps on sd cards anymore. At least as far as I know. I would be happy to be proven wrong with my 16gb android tablet though

I have a motorola. Developer mode is activated. When I go to my SanDisk SD card and hit the three dots, I have an option to format SD card. Do NOT have an option to format as internal.

@@Haggart Samsung is simple just go to apps and find an app you want to move to the SD card after optimizing it to internal storage for example you can't move FB into the SD card in the default setting but you can move it now.

Help! New Motorola with new SanDisk ULTRA microsdxc UHS-I Card. I followed your instructions but when I got to the format screen, I only got "Format". There was not an option to format for storage. So I went ahead and formatted with the option available. Then went to Storage> Apps > (selected a game) > there was no option to transfer the game to my new sd card.
