I'm simple: My #1 thing is I don't wanna live with roaches. That, and I don't want thin walls. I don't need to hear what Mrs. Jones next door is doing. Other than those two things, anything goes.

Separate your money into 4 different sections. Money for saving, money for spending, money for helping and money for family spending. Thats the way I've been taught but you can change those categories. You can decide the percentages as well depending on your income. For me its 50%,25%15% and 10%. But you can remove or add. It's important to be disciplined with yourself and follow those guidelines. Especially when you tell yourself you are allowed to spend less than you are actually allowed. Itll help save a lot

How do u overcome your fear of moving? I have a terrible anxiety and whenever i have the inspiration to try the tips u suggested i began to worry on what do i do now that I'm all alone? How should i keep my house or apartment secure from bad crazy people? Or what should i do if something like that comes my way? These questions always terrifies me and my mom is not helping by putting up those tv shows that solves real life murders they don't help me at all. What should i do? Moving to a place all on my own os exciting but extremely scary. I have nothing and these questions are driving me crazy!!

another tip that i plan to use when i move out/something i do a little bit now : dont be afraid to ask for money or necessities instead of fun gifts. instead of wasting people's money on things you wont use be straight up and say "oh my vacuum is broken id like a new one" or "id like a little bit of money to put into my savings/bank account" or even things like gas cards from a station near you

Luckily, this will help for me because I'm planning to move to a new apartment real soon and I want to make sure I'm financially stable. Also, I want my new place to have a patio, a walk-in closet, and whatever it comes to it, a washer and dryer installed in the unit.
@skywalker6648
@skywalker6648 5 жыл бұрын
It will definitely be helpful to have a patio with storage and a washer and dryer in the unit is ideal. Although the downside is if you are sensitive to sound at night, depending on the kind of apartment building you're in, you could end up hearing everyone else's endlessly washing their clothes night and day as well. It's ultimately best to rent a house or townhouse end unit.
@RoysWorld1985
@RoysWorld1985 5 жыл бұрын
@@skywalker6648 No doubt about it. But the thing is as much as I would live in a townhouse nor a house, I don't think my budget would do so. Sure, I'm still want to lived in a better apartment, but I want to lived in a quiet apartment complex without hearing loud music and listening to people's conversations. Like I said, I'll just ignore everything and just pretend that I didn't hear anything. But at the end of the day, I'm still going to live in the much better place regardless. Of course, it would be nice to have a patio, a walk-in closet, and a washer and dryer installed in the unit. So just keep your fingers crossed that I'll be blessed with a new apartment.

I'm moving out in Nov/Jan, funny though, I'm moving to the same complex I grew up in 15 years ago lol. Shocking they are still in really good condition, their newer sister complex though.... not so much. It was the same price as the 1 bed 1 bath I was looking at, but I get 2 bed 2 bath. Plus it's within walking distance of work and the store. My mom laughed at my at first for looking at this stuff so far in advance(I really like to plan in advance, that way I can have things figured out) . Till she realized I was really going though with it, now she's all into it. We have a full list and I'm slowly getting little things at a time. Our Walmart is doing a reset so I've gotten all most all my bathroom stuff for maybe $50 for both bathrooms. I thankfully also already have a lot of stuff from other family members. I kind of feel bad though, since I just repainted and put new floors in my bedroom back in April. Lots of looking around online, calling around, going in asking for info.

I’m 14,a freshman in Hs and I plan to move out to Texas or Arizona because I live in the northern part of the US and I feel like it’s too early but I look at apartments now and plan how much I’ll need to save before I move ,this video is exactly what I was looking for

Spongebob Squarepants I know you’re only 14. You need to save ideally $10,000 minimum to last you a good long while. I moved to Seattle from NM as a full fledged adult and it cost me $2000 for the moving truck, $300 in renter’s insurance, $200 for apartment deposit, and first month’s rent was prorated at like $1000, but monthly rent is $2500. Money goes fast and apartment rent is expensive in some parts of Phoenix. It’s a 100% guarantee that you won’t make enough at 18 to pay $1000 in rent every month. Don’t go to NM you’ll hate it. Bad roads and bad wages. I’m now downsizing to 150 square feet in Seattle metro because of rent. My new rent rates are $960/month. Thank fucking god.

I like how she assumes people are living in 2000$ apartments...i work a minimum wage job and am looking for apartments less than 300 and thats my top budget. -_-

You can't even rent a room for that price. You're better off staying in your parents house until you can get a promotion on the job in that case or a second job. Btw, the price of an average decent, safe (especially for women) apartment is at least $1100 a month near most major cities depending how close you are to the city center. Then it could cost $2200 a month or more for a 1 bedroom.

@@skywalker6648 It depends on the state, Missouri where I live, you can rent in town for around 500 a month.
@RedQuill13

@@skywalker6648 I'll even send links. I just wish she didnt say what to expect for pricing given prices vary from area to area. And as for you, even if someone lives in an area that has higher housing prices not everyone can stay at home with there parents. I'm going to be 20 when I move out for college next year. I'll be transferring from a community college and it's a few hours away so I dont have a choice but to move out. And dorms arent worth going into debt over when they arent nearly as safe or as forgiving on someone in my position. You my dear dont have the right to say what I'm better off doing. This is especially true when not all locations are the same. In missouri where I live it's actually possible to live off minimum wage. 1/3 going to rent, 1/3 to utilities and the rest to groceries and savings. On 500 to 600 a month this is doable. Dont try to give people career or life advice if you dont know what you're talking about or their situation. All I was commenting on is the youtubers assumption of atleast a 3000 a month job which in many cases in my state can only be achieved if you're working full time in a high enough position.

@@skywalker6648 Also, not everyone lives in major cities, you have to realize those may be heavily populated but many Americans live in NON MAJOR CITIES, shocking, i know, but you can't just assume someones situation like you have done with me. I didn't even say I lived with my parents, for all you knew I lived in dorms, or already lived on my own in an apartment. You just assumed I lived at home and that happened to be accurate. And as for saftey, living near the center of town is WORSE for saftey reasons, crime rates tend to increase the closer you get into towns and cities, and you seem to be only seeing STUDIO apartments which are always going to be higher prices for god knows why when they are small and barely have a bedroom if that. In my area you can actually rent houses for less than that so don't assume everyone's situation is exactly the same, sorry for ranting like this but your comment made me frustrated when you completely missed the point of my comment and then went on to assume a lot of things that aren't accurate about my situation.

In major cities, such as LA and NYC, people are living in $2000 apartments and that’s not “incredibly expensive.” It’s all relative. :)

Thanks for the useful & necessary tips.I saw a lovely & small 2 bedroom apt.,today.I did not get it.I'll keep looking.I like bathtub,also.I'm searching for a decent apt.,for me & my daughter.I brought some important paperwork,to show the agent.Keep up the good work.Folks check the pipes,water pressure,check to see if appliances work & see if there are holes,that mice can crawl through.

Sweet Pea LOL Ikr that’s why I think her videos are bogus and are for a niche audience full of tweens and idealists. So much fluff. Not for the average person who has two minimum wage jobs looking for a place to survive. Trust fund kids, call girls who are stuck in a rut, and idealistic young people with no logic and no goals are part of the dark side of KZbin.

okaminess right !!! A single person living in California would have to make $30-35 an hour to be able to afford a small apartment. You can’t even rent a room in ca for less than $1,000 unless it’s in the ghetto !
