I literally did the exact same thing as you! I moved to Paris as an independent student. I took my classes at La Sorbonne. Some say it is over priced but my experience was truly wonderful. I want to move so now I am trying to figure out how to do so! Best wishes bon courage a toi!

This was extremely informative but then realized halfway that I cant take the 'student visa' route. My only issue is renting the apt because of the deposit and convincing a landlord to rent it to me without any guarantor. I know very little french and need help with translating the websites you mentioned in your other video such as PAP.fr ...Could you possibly do a tutorial video? I will be arriving in July 2018 and am currently doing airbnb but it so fckin expensive. thANK YOU IN ADVANCE & hope to see more of your videos or maybe even come across you in the street. xoxo :)

You could split the video or the content into a series of shorter videos. You covered a lot in it. The interest of the visas would be depend on the person watching.

It's so nice to hear you've had a good experience and like France! I studied abroad in the south (😍) and moved back last summer and holy cow, the bureaucracy has made me jaded. I tried to come on a student visa and got rejected at my interview (cue my tears) and ended up coming here on a visa for independent workers instead

It's so true! The best bet is always to expect the worst. it's actually quite funny because I've been here for almost 10 months and still haven't gotten my first carte de séjour. C'est la vie, I guess! I absolutely love your videos and I'm glad you popped up in my recommendations today!

How is someone considered an independent worker? Is it bc youre an online tutor that you qualify? Bisous

Zayda it's the same as freelancing in the US. You aren't a salaried employee of a business, and you're legally required to have at least 2 clients. (This is to prevent businesses from exploiting freelancers). The legal classification in France is profession liberale, auto entrepreneur, or micro entrepreneur. (I believe AE and ME are now considered the same, but were different in the past).

hi there, i have a question. I do not need a VISA for short stay which is 90days. I am planning to get married with my french girlfriend in France but what I am afraid of is the whole marriage process cannot be done within 90 days.
