Hello! I can totally understand how difficult it must be if you are forced to take a side where you live right now. With 5.5 years of IT experience you have such a great shot at being able to move to the Netherlands! I would check out the job openings in companies like Cool Blue, Bol.com (they are always looking for very talented IT professionals). I (Josh) am an American looking to stay in the Netherlands and I have found a company (UPS) that wants to hire me. I have experience as a supervisor with UPS in the States. However, the IND will not let them hire me here because they say that there are others in the city (Utrecht) already that are eligible to work so they will not even let me apply for a work visa. Hello Laxmi! Great great your brother is already here and working! You can definitely apply for the Start Up visa, make sure to have a great idea, a business plan and also get in touch with some facilitators such as Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) Rotterdam or it's equivalents, you can find a few more in the description of this video. The procedure of start-up visa does take time and it costs around 300 euros. However, if you come here with a visitor visa before, this might be able to speed up the process. Hey Michelle, depends on the type of customer service job you're looking for. For some of them, you would most likely have to know both Dutch and English. But I think because this is a very personal decision, it's best if you decide yourself . 😀

I wouldn't move to the netherlands at all if it wasn't for my partner living there. My home country sees about 270 or more days of sun throughout the year whereas the NL is the opposite of that. Also I'm an outdoors person and spoilt for choice where I live in beautiful scenic rolling mountains, forests and oceans etc .. Literally work 4hrs a day and lived on the beachfront 50m away from the beach. Life in NL is just verrrrrrrry very different.

Hello @Adugam Abel, as far as I am aware there is no minimum or maximum amount specified. Having said that, you should be able to cover your basic daily living expenses like housing, food and transport before moving here. These can cost anywhere between 1200 euros/ month up to 2000 euros+ depending on your wishes and your lifestyle. For example, many rental agencies will want to see that you have at least 2-3 times the rent amount in your bank account consistently before you can rent.

Question.. how do you think this would work.. I'm an American contractor currently in Afghanistan looking to buy a houseboat in Amsterdam. I'm about to be working as a merchant mariner after I leave Afghanistan for 3 months on 3 months off roughly. Hello Osman, if you also have an EU residency & work permit because of your wife, you don't need to apply for an additional work permit. But if you only have a Turkish passport, you'll have to make sure that the place where you'll work is going to sponsor you and cover for your visa expenses. You can check out IND.nl you can find more detailed information regarding how long procedures take.
