I sure love this series! I'm doing things a bit backwards, as I'm not sure if I'll be adding my doll's head to a body with an armature, but I've watched this video 3 times already and I'm so inspired. You're an amazing teacher! Thanks so much!

I'm doing the series right now too. :) You haven't done the body yet? You've started with the head? I'm not sure I'll use this head I'm doing now for the body I made, but it's so much fun! Marie is an awesome instructor!

You’re so talented! I don’t work with felt as gracefully as you do and I just like to make felt food for my daughters play kitchen. But your videos relax me that’s why I keep watching them:)

Absolutely Awesome Video ! Thank You ! I Just started felting. I took a 2 month class and made a puppet of my Dog, (Irish Red & White Setter), and truly fell in Love with Felting ! When showing pics. of my dog With the puppet some say they cannot tell which is the REAL dog, and which is the puppet ! But the techniques you're showing, (like using pastels and how you can just brush them out of the box without even opening them !)could've made him even More Lifelike! I entered him in our home-town art show, and am hoping folks will become more aware of this Awesome and Fun Art !!! I'm Hooked on your channel, and love your way of teaching and your voice is so relaxing & comfortable to listen to ! Thank You so Much for your expert and detailed fine -tuning of this Fun & Relaxing Art !!!! Qweeny ;)

Hi Jim! I would love to see how your doll is coming along. Can you post a pic or two in the FB group? I am going to post a pic of mine later today, although she isn't even close to being finished. I thought some constructive criticism might help me at this stage. 😁

For ringlets with wool you just dampen your strands and wrap around a skewer or other tool the wool wil grab to and let dry . Attach ends if you want a real uniform curl that’s what I ve done

I am just beginning video 3 and this may be addressed in the video, but I figured I would ask here anyway in case there are others out there who may have some answers for me as well..... So, I am sitting here looking at my doll's face so far and I think she REALLY needs some eyelashes! 😂 Is it possible to give her some? If so, how do you suggest I do it and what should I use? I think eyelashes will make her look more feminine. She looks a little "manly" at the moment, as I am sitting here trying really hard to soften up her features (as Marie suggested in Video 2). I think eyelashes would help tremendously! 😊 thanks in advance for any answers I get!!
@LivingFelt4 жыл бұрын
We get it! On the facial details this is discussed, and we show more of an "eyeliner" approach :)
@Councilof8for434 жыл бұрын
@@LivingFelt Thanks for the super fast response! I was thinking an "eyeliner" effect and maybe a bit of eye color on the upper lids would definitely do the trick. Well it's time for Video 3! Having a BLAST by the way!! 😁👍❤️

@@LivingFelt I posted a pic of my doll in your FB group if your curious. I have never needle felted before so this is a huge learning experience for me. Luckily you are a great teacher, Marie! (Stacy Lynn Joubert is my FB name).

I'm still working on my fingers but they appear to be all different will this matter
@LivingFelt6 жыл бұрын
Fingers do take practice...it is nice if they are fairly close in thickness and not lumpy. I always make more than I need and then match them ...using the largest ones for the middle finger and thumb, and smallest for pinky finger. It really helps to work in tiny, thin strips of wool.

Can you use partial wool and polyester and for hair? I saw a big ball at a craft store the other day. The yarn itself way spun very loosely so it kinda looked like roving. Would that be possible to use?

Oh Sure, yarn for hair can be fun :)

Do you advise protecting wool felt needle pieces with Scotchgard?
@LivingFelt5 жыл бұрын
Scotchgard is not something I use, personally. For sculptures and paintings, keep them free of dust with feather dusting or other means.
