Walk your tip in from the outside test pushing to the very center of the dent, make sure you can see the bottom of the dent by either board or head movement. Once to the center, spiral out your pushes with them close together as possible. You may need to do this more than once til the dent is flat. No corn rows, and limited cross checking. Fixing a small dent in a nutshell.

Wow that’s makes so much sense I’ve been pushing for a about a week with a mentor can’t believe he hasn’t pointed this out.

Don't blame your mentor Eduardo. This is an old school metal working technique. Most PDR techs are not trained to move metal like this because these techniques went away after plastic filler got popular a long time ago.

A great tip I received when I trained in the 90’s is to never try and finish the dent from your original position. When you cross check, it’s easier and faster to finish. You don’t have to tap down overpushes as much and even if you did begin to have cornrows, they are easier to pick at because you haven’t severely pinched any metal.

I wonder if I will ever see a video of how the tool is actually placed/pushed against the metal FROM BEHIND.

I've seen all of your videos on this channel , I always wanted to tell you that on KZbin your channel is the best for learning PDR basics or advance technics , the knowledge you're sharing is incredible , I always looking forward for every new video . Please keep sharing your knowledge and talent with PDR enthusiasts like me ! One question though :) the light you are using in this video, is it the Eagle Eyies from Fanesse? If yes , what's you opinion on this light? Thank you
@TopGunPDRTraining5 жыл бұрын
Hi Igor that is a custom light I have made for me. I always make up a custom reflection for each student as everyone sees detail inside a dent a bit differently. So I don't have one standard light.

@@TopGunPDRTraining thank you sir for such a quick response! It's good hear :) I also costumized my 14" light . I am looking to upgrade to 18 or 20 " with option to be able costumize to my needs:)

I'ma just pull my rocker panel dent best I can and from there Bondo it and spend long time sanding and finessing to best blend the Bondo job into the existing metal and rocker panel assembly. From there color it and clear coat it. Any arguments?

Working parallel with the light ,what is the proper way to position the light? Is this a panel in tension or compression thing ?
@martyrunik2 жыл бұрын
This has nothing to do with light position. It means pushing the dent up while moving the tool tip parallel with the fog stripe, not perpendicular as shown in the video.
@vikinghauler32442 жыл бұрын
@@martyrunik So the light can be at any position as long as you work parallel with it ? BULLCRAP

Hi Craig. I never recommend tools to beginning techs as there are so many variables to consider. I only recommend tools after watching a tech work for a few days in class. The only companies I deal with are Blehm PDR Tools, Finesse PDR Tools and Ultra PDR Tools.

You have to pick and choose between many tool companies to put a good set together. Unfortunately there is no one company you can deal with.
