In this video, I teach you how to “nollie” on your skateboard. A nollie is an ollie done off of your board’s nose. Learn how to nollie by watching tons of slow motion ollies. Also, maybe my tips will help you get your nollies on lock as well! 🥺

Thanks! I’ve started learning nollies recently and have been slowly getting more comfortable with them. I’ve got the pop, and now I’m working on leveling the board and getting the ankle slide motion. I can fakie Ollie so that definitely helps. And spot on about how you need to understand how an Ollie and the timing works. I’m really happy with getting the timing down even though they're baby nollies! I think I need to shove the board more forwards to make it easier to slide my foot upwards. Thanks for emphasizing that motion! I’ll also try out your foot position, mine was more like a regular Ollie stance so I curious to how change will effect it.

I think the reason for the push being important is it encourages the board to go nearly completely vertical. This allows the slide foot to move towards the front knee, pulling the nose back up without having to push backwards. I push forward on my ollie as well for the same reason. That was the final change that allowed me to ollie onto a picnic table

Awesome tips, love the channel and hope that you grow over time, the channel size doesn’t reflect the quality of these tutorials!! Is there any chance you might do a Nollie heelflip tutorial in the future? Keep it up man!

Ollies are just switch nollies

No, a switch Ollie is the same movement as a regular Ollie, this also uses the nose of your board to pop

Whenever I try to nollie with force while moving, my lead foot lands in front of my board. I wonder if the nudge is the reason why. Looking forward to trying it. Thanks

So you kind of like put your foot on the nose. And the pop it and then like move your foot and kind of do like a jump. Than slide your foot kind of up and jump, So its like a pop pow jump slide booosh kind of a thing.

Switch to me, feels backwards. But it is very similar to switch Ollie for sure.

Do you think skating switch helps for tricks like backside flips and any spin trick in general? Or just helping you get tricks cleaner and just better board control or do you think it doesn't matter at all? Cause I've been skating 5 years and I can kickflip, hc flip, bs flip, fs flip, full cab, treflip, heelflip. But I really can't switch anything or switch Ollie cause I haven't put the time in. And I've noticed I've had problems with bs flips they aren't consistent. I was thinking about cutting my skate session in half or some days just full on switch to see if it might help. But in your personal opinion do you find that switch makes your regular tricks cleaner and more consistent or do you think it's not necessary?

I think it helps your skating in general like you suggested, but I think it’s only up to a certain point. Like, at some point, you’ll get diminishing returns if what you really care about is your regular stance. Mastering the basics switch is probably enough
