How to oil a traverso of boxwood ?

In this video, we are going to learn how to oil a boxwood traverso ,
in simple steps , I am going to show what do you need and how to do it !
there are differents ways to oil the traverso but this option is practical and fast.
but another way to do it , will be taking out the cork and the key , and leave the traverso in a big container full of oil , soaking with enough oil to cover the traverso during the night
( if you have enough oil !!) .
The factor of my Weemaels traverso gave me this instructions to oil il it , so be safe that you are doing well .

I use pure rose oil. Its very expensive but it works better than almond oil in my opinion + your flute will smell delicious.

Thanks for this! Nice and detailed! I’ve been using linseed oil but the almond must be faster drying, and probably of a finer consistency.

thanks for your comment, glad its useful, I have not tried linseed but at list with almond oil I have not had any problem of drying , if you clean or remove it properly with a cotton rag , that should not be a problem , it removes very well and absorbs very well and the traverso is not "greasy"

hello! yes ! but it should be with sweet almond oil without any fragrances and organic !if possible! the Now brand is good option!

at this video I did not say nothing about the cork this was a express cleaning but is much better to take it out if you know how! but if not ust be sure that the oil does not come to that part keep it upright !

Great video! I just got a new Boxwood headjoint for my silver flute. Do you recommend using sweet almond oil inside the bore of the headjoint? Just wondering if the oils will damage my pads.

Interesting question , I have never tried doing that , I don’t have a baroque head joint that I insert on my modern flute , but there are some wood headjoints for the modern flutes I guess the best is to ask to the factor of the head joint … what brand it is ?

@@Martialbenoitmusic i just used normal alcohol, and its very little quantity that you put on the cotton, swab is just to remove or clean any dirt on the holes of the flute no more than that... is just for the holes not for the whole flute so it wont damage, my flute is totally fine
