This is the proper way of doing a competition method Uchi-Mata. You do not tuck your elbow pressing Uke's chest (tsurite). Rather, you lift your elbow up.

This is a demo.In actual practice the support foot would be ideally further in between ukes legs.The handworklooks suspect to me.the shiai uchi mata are mostly makikomi type.
its technically the same as pulling the normal way. But as you drop yourself lower you gain extra weight due to combining your weight and your pulling strength. So it does look like its going downwards. Also going low give you extra leverage.
