How to open a Audi bonnet when cable is snapped without damaging the vehicle.

We needed to open Audi bonnet with snapped cable. I couldn't find any helpful videos about it. so I thought I share my experience in case you have a similar trouble. I believe this trick would work on most of the Audi vehicles with these big grill's. Probably on vw, seat, scoda vehicles as well. I hope this helps you out.

Thanks a lot! Saved me with a stone dead battery in A3 8p. I had to break the corners off the hood handle to get the screws off, though. Pry bar and a hammer sorted that, and the handle still works. 👌

Mate if i could biy a punt i would and then kiss ya. Bonnets been stuck down for weeks mobile mechanic failed misserably. Took me 15 seconds after seeing this. Will work on A3 8PA 2007 side note the 3rd hole is easier to do with a long socket bar and appropriate tourx

Hey . How did you manage to take out the first 2 bolts ? I have them undone they feel lose and look almost all the way out but the lever for the secondary catch it’s on the way . Could you give me a little more insight on what u did please ? I’ve been struggling for two days straight trying to open it

I was using long nose pliers and some pick's to pull them out. They should slide past the plastic lever with little bit force.

Try from under neath with a quarter in steel rod just stick into latch from driver's side and lever towards passengers side car need to be up

Take a long piece of rod and make a hook on the end. Go underneath and pull the latch mechanism down where the cable is supposed to.
