I don’t think any is better, it’s just a preference and which ever is closer to you to set up the account. Jmmb however does have cheaper fees

Bank of America in New York Requires you to be a green card holder/citizen….not sure of the other banks.

Its easier for a Jamaican citizen to open a US bank account, than it is for that same Jamaican to open a Jamaican bank account. SMDH.

Only thing different is the reference I think and in some cases American banks too ask for references like place of work.

@@DemetressFairman Not really. I have multiple bank accounts across different providers and never once asked for proof of employment, or references. American banks also don't as for recent tax history, but if a returning resident needs an account, then he or she must provide tax documents from the foreign country of residence. A driver's license should be all you need to set up a bank account.

​@juniormarshallhastings723 the bank account is yours you have wire transfer you have the card you can do withdrawals at ATM Internationallly. Just call the bank and tell them your traveling. Revoked visa doesn't affect your bank funds unless your travel to work and you owe taxes and other crazy reasons.
