With Spotify shuffle and the like can you really control how someone listens to an album anymore? I often find myself diving onto tracks with the high play count first
@Holistic-songwriting

No, of course you can't control anything. But a) some people still listen to albums and go to live shows and b) this is more about having different ways of approaching a new song, so you don't end up writing the same thing over and over again.

I would really appreciate it if you analyzed very famous hits instead of your own songs, as you did in your previous, more useful videos. With all due respect, when you analyze your own songs, you’re not giving consolidated advice, but rather relative to your experience advice, which can be very dangerous especially for young inexperienced songwriters. It could lead them down a specific closed path instead of opening up the many possibilities in songwriting. You’re self-promoting your artistic choices, which are not necessarily the path to success. Maybe you are giving good advice to some people, but those are your choices-not the choices that lead famous artists to guaranteed success.

Not sure if this is well researched advice or rationalized self promotion

I'll be sure to add more examples from other artists in future. :)

It's one of the biggest crucial rules of business - use your platform to promote your products and business. He could have used other artists as a demonstration, but why do that when you could promote your own thing? He has videos on other artists' methods. Of course a songwriter is gonna make videos about their own music.
