Yeah, man...my son said leave a good comment for you. So here it is. This was very useful for us. We had a DVD that spun unbalanced in the case got jammed inside the DVD drive. Using this I was able to take apart our box, unjam the DVD, and put it back together in minutes. Thank you.

This video was a lifesaver! I have searched sooo many videos to get help with opening my slim but it was very confusing. You've explained it in a way I could understand! I just wanted to comment ... after you take the grills off either side, you do not have to pry that plates off. If you will slide a thin flat head screwdriver down each rectangular slot, you can release the side panel catches without risking damage to the plates.

Hey man, nice video. Sadly I tried to open up my 360 (to clean it up) according your video, but the moment where you say 'it snaps right off'... no man really no way. I tried I tried, scratched the surface too much by my liking. So eventually gave it up. I just couldnt get the cover removed. I am talking about the part at the 5:35-40 timestamp. It is really tight where the seal is. I couldn't get it snapping off without damage. It looked very easy on your video. To me this 360 is not so easily disassambled as you explain in this video. Also some bits and pieces will come of of those side plates, making them a little bit less tight when reattached. I disassambled an older 360 once which went way better. Seems that Microsoft went a bit too far with the cover this time.

At 0.53 those side panel covers you are talking about, i found it easier to remove them by taking off the shiny outer trim instead, it comes iff in 1 piece it is just 4 clips you have to just wiggle the right way

I don't recommend putting circuit boards on cloth or anything that holds a charge. Chips are pretty static sensitive. Ground yourself. Put the parts on a wooden surface or metal surface.

FYI, you keep saying "SATA and data cables". The SATA cable IS the data cable, the other one is power. Otherwise, great video I found it helpful for removing the plastics.

You need the same model and you need to get the PCB from the old one into the new one otherwise you can only play downloaded games from the XBL Marketplace.

i had the same problem lol took me like an hr al you have to do is get the clip on the other side and use a screwdriver to keep it open then get a second screw driver and pry from the other side about th same thing he did but go in from the other side it took me awhile.

I have a 4GB Xbox 360 slim and I bought a 500GB hard drive for it. I pushed the hard drive in its place and after I heard that click, I pushed it a little bit more to be shure that it's in place. I noticed that the hard drive caddy (the slide that holds the hard drive) it's elastic: after the hard drive is inserted, it wobbles (maybe to prevent hdd damage when the xbox is moved). My question is: how does the hard drive caddy/slide work? is there a metal spring in its mechanism that allows it to wobble? Did I make any damage to it because I pushed the hard drive to be sure that it is in place? I don't want to teardwon my console to find that out. Thank you!
