Ma'am, my baby is 7 weeks old, just doesn't open his mouth wide enough. I have been trying to do nipple to nose but he just doesn't open his mouth wide. And sucks the areola instead. If I try to latch him it turns out a shallow latch. He ends up nipple feeding causing me pain. Also baby is formula fed on paediatrician's advice hence bottle was introduced as early as at two weeks . But latching issues were even before bottle was introduced, since he was born

Hi Mam, my baby's mouth is very small. I tried the technique mentioned for almost 15mins but only ended up with a frustrated baby refusing to feed. When swaddled he was trying to push the cloth away. And when I kept aveola in the junction he only tries to suck and feel the skin above rather than opening the mouth wide. So what I do is when he cries his mouth will be wide and I shove the breast inside.

And mam I tried this technique but she does not open wide mouth ,generally it’s like generally 100 degree,lower lip not well out as well as tongue is also not outwards ,have clicking sound while feed ,have weak jaw movement and if I latched it like that and try to relatch again and again(as u said) to make it correct she becomes fussy ,tired and then suddenly refused to open mouth as during latching and relatching process she felt satisfied her hunger
