Fantastic! Great to know I always have a backup in case my original Ae project file gets lost or corrupted. In case it helps anybody here's another tip... if you always want the color of the main text bubble and the pointy bit to be the same, you can use the pick whip to parent the color of the pointy bit to the color of the main bubble and then just add the main bubble color to the controls for the MOGRT.

Really helpful about changing the extension to zip, thanks, needed to know that step, I too have created my own mogrts but I also wanna cheat a little and take certain parts of a couple of mogrts and marry them plus my own twist. Remember people, in this example, if you wanted both elements of the background to always be the same, add a color control layer in the AE file, pickwhip both shape layer colors to the color control and then drag the Color from the control layer into the Essential Graphics panel, just saves the extra step and time long term.

Bonus nugget, if uou want to change both element colors to the same color just pick whip one to the other in the timeline and then add the main one to the graphics panel.

So this needs to be done in After Effects. If you're working with an existing After Effects file that you've just opened, navigate to the Essential Graphics panel. You should see all the editable features for that the creator has outlined. Find the one for the text and 'Edit Properties'. Tick all the boxes under 'Font Properties' section and hit ok. Now save the file and export MOGRT! Hope that makes sense!

I'm solid on how to open and edit MGRTs but can't figure out how to save them once I'm done so they can be used again without re-creating. For some reason, the option to Export as is ghosted out. Help?

So when you’re in After Effects go to Window>Essential Graphics (AE has an Essential Graphics panel too). You then need to select the elements (drag and drop them into the panel) you want to be able to be changed when in Premiere Pro e.g. scale, position, the actually itself, fill, etc. - name the MOGRT and click the export button at the bottom of the Essential Graphics panel - just click ok to everything that pops up... You should now see the MOGRT file the EG panel in Premiere Pro. Hope this helps and makes sense! 😅

@@LeahBarbour Sorry I wasn't more specific...I don't use AE, only Premier Pro. So when I drag a MGRT from the bin onto my project and then revise it as needed, I don't have a way to export that file so I don't have to re-create it all over again.

Amazing video! Thanks for sharing this! I run my own little indie record label. I'm searching specific MOGRT files for ages but I just can't find it. There is hundred of "social media" packs that are just great... but for my label, It would be super cool to have some related to music online stores (like iTunes, Amazon, Beatport, etc) and streaming platforms (like Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Apple Music, etc). So the reason I found this video is because I really wonder if it is not possible to change some existing MOGRT to have the LOGO I want (ex: instead of Instagram Logo, the iTunes logo). Do you think it's possible to create that kind of thing from an existent MOGRT, the way you edit this one on AE? Thanks in advance!
