How To Operate A Tree Spade

I want to show you how to operate a tree spade. I bought a trailer mounted tree spade to move trees onto my property and had to learn through trial and error how to use the tree spade. I don't want you guys to make the same mistakes I did, so watch the video from beginning to end and learn the right way to run a tree spade. My tree spade is a Vermeer TS-44A and can move up to a 4" caliper tree. Remember, the smaller the tree you are moving, the higher the chance of survival.

Great video! I just bought a TS44 and this video is very educational!! You mentioned being in Ks I am also in Sedgwick County Ks. Would you happen to have any information you'd be willing to share like part numbers and any other tips 9r tricks you may have learned while using it?

How do you jack the tree spade up to attach and detach from the truck when the spade is parked not being used?

This spade had a hydraulic jack. Most don't though and would need an external jack mounted to it.

I believe the size of the tire dictated the type of tire. I just gave my tire guy the size, and there was only one type of tire available at that size.
