Hens your FPS limit is set to 60 still and not 120. did you check with the steam fps overlay that you actually run with 120 fps ? There is FPS limit and Framratelimiter. not sure which of those actually limits your fps but its probably save to just put both on 120 ( i have them on 240 in case they upgrade it ). Also there is no need to put the file on read-only as long as you dont edit graphic settings in the game. I leave read-only off in case they change stuff in the game that needs access towards this file.

that 60 fps limit the "FPSLimit=" is your frames with the game tabed out you don't need 120 fps with your game in bar, where hens put 120 those are the in-game fps so he has 120 fps not 60

Hey, was having similar issues. Then i did something and it helped significantly. I’ve done a lot of tinkering in the past, undervolting my GPU, XMP profiles for my ram, but the thing that pushed all that over the edge: You have to have dbd in true fullscreen. Not borderless windowed. Not the “fullscreen” setting in gameusersettings. I’m talking “screen turns black for 4 seconds when alt-tabbing” 100% priority fullscreen. I forget how exactly I did it, some combination of using launch parameters in addition to the stuff in gameusersettings, but I’m getting consistent 120fps on a 2060. I’m sure there’t a yt video abt it somewhere. GL

No, do not use V-sync with a Gsync or FreeSync monitor. Gsync replaces V-sync and allows you to use the maximum refresh rate of your monitor rather than requiring you to run at half of your maximum refresh rate like V-sync forces you to.

Anti cheat shouldn't/won't care about you changing your engine files. It's all stuff within the game's logic - no external unapproved tool Some of the settings you can now do in DBD's own menu - changing fps limit, vsync, and anti aliasing. However, you are unable to change individual graphic settings (like shadows, foliage, textures) - they are all locked to the preset level low/medium/high. Editing the config lets you modify these individually.

If you didn't back up the text files, deleting the ones you edited will cause new ones to be recreated upon launching your game. Note, this will reset all of your settings - including audio, controls, etc. Alternatively, removing read-only will allow the game to update and save settings in-game. I don't know if this will undo things like the forced-off AA, though.
