@@cookiemunsterninjaa You can tip in cash, which is usually what I prefer, however it can also be taken the wrong way and make the dasher think you won't tip at all. I'd usually decline an order if I see no tip AND if the base pay I'm getting is low (like $2-3 max just to deliver), unless the house is no more than a mile or 2 away.

Well so far it's 1 for 3 in terms of Doordash doing it's job. I ordered from Papa Murphy's and they couldn't get in touch with Doordash so someone from Papa Murphy was kind enough to deliver it himself and my order from McDonald's got cancelled because they couldn't find a driver. I live in a small town and Doordash is new but c'mon man do your job.

Hey Door Dash Mike. Can you make a video on why a customer would give the delivery driver a low rating? Keep in mind the delivery driver arrived to the restaurant on time. The restaurant did not have the food ready. Now the delivery driver has to wait to deliver. Here’s the scenario. The delivery driver must pick up the food by 1:20 PM. The delivery driver arrives on time and restaurant does not have the food ready until 1:45pm which happens to be the delivery time. Somehow the driver is able to deliver the food by 2:00pm. Don’t forget the driver uses the insulated bag and happens to have heated seats to maintain the food hot and fresh. Explain to me in that scenario why a customer would give a driver a bad rating? Don’t forget the restaurant uses containers that are sealed that can show if their food has been tampered with. The driver does not have the ability to check on the food and make sure it’s the correct items.

Import Domestic, I have my theories on this but yes, it's seems like the driver should receive a good rating. What we don't know and can't control is a customer that's hangry and expected their food at 1:45. Even though it's not the drivers fault, she/he may unfortunately take a negative hit on it. My suggestion, not that it would change the outcome, would be to text the customer making them are of the wait time at the restaurant. That lets them know you're there and waiting. You could also decline the delivery if you arrive and the restaurant is not ready with the food. Move on to the next order.

I forgot to mention that the customer is being told by the driver that the food is not ready for pick up. Not only that the app shows that the food has not been picked up and it shows that the driver is at the location.

The promo code issue on the customer app to share with friends for food. The drivers promo code issue through the driver app. Customers can contact support through the app if the food is messed up.

Tip for customer's to save money give doordash less and use that money to tip better cause its the ppl doing all the work and we rely on tips while doordash is getting more money so a computer can send in ur order. When u order from these apps they charge more than reasturant usually 10 percent that's how they make there money. Some of the reasturants especially the chains have there own app u can order on and they deliver it thru doordash same way as if u ordered on doordash app except since ur not ordering off doordash app ur not paying extra 10 percent ur paying reasturants price. So ur saving the 10 percent. Which adds up and u can use some or all of it to give driver better tip cause they dont get paid alot and rely on there tips. Also if ur picking the food up dont order on the doordash app and pay extra 10 percent why u gonna pay doordash 10 percent to send ur order to reasturant. If they have there own app use it like i said for delivery if they dont and u picking it up call them and use that 10 percent to tip them cause unlike mcdonald or panera where they get paid hourly when u order from a sit down reasturant they dont get paid extra to do tskeout orders they work for tips only get 2.13 per hour plus tips. When u tip ur waiter part of that goes to everyone but cooks thats how everyone gets paid off tips host busboys ppl garnishing ur plates ect. Point being if ur willing to pay 10 percent to doordash which has a computer sending the reasturants ur order a computer u should have no problem tipping the person a real person not a computer for doing ur order especially since there not getting paid to do it there tipped employees and i just gave u a tip to reduce the price u paid by 10 percent so now its not even costing u extra u can pay same and just give it to workers as a tip instead of to doordash for using there app so computer can send in ur order. Delivery or pickup u can use that 10 percent ur saving not giving it to doordash to give a bigger tip to the driver or reasturant employee who both depend on tips to make money.

If u order food using these apps. Any problems u gotta contact the app u use not the reasturants. To many ppl call the reasturants for issues. Theres nothing they can do for u. U have to contact the app. All money goes through the app all drivers go through the app always contact them reasturant cant help u at all. If theres a mistake with order ur charged wrong amt delivery takes to long whatever it is. Like dont call reasturant asking were ur food is they have no control. If theres a mistake or somthing missing samething if u call reasturant they dont have contact with drivers to have them comeback. U have to contact app reorder missing item or messed up item and they send driver to pick it up and deliver it to u and they handel not charging u for it. Also if u cancel ur order for whatever reason after its confirmed by reasturant u have to contact app cause once reasturant confirms it there getting paid for it regardless if u cancel so u have to talk to app u use to get money back cause its taking to long or cold cause they didnt have driver around to deliever quickly. Biggest mistake u can do is lets say u order 4 burgers and tgan decide u only want two. Dont cancel order for 4 and reorder 2 burgers. Cause once confirmed ur charged so now ur paying for 6 burgers if the app dont reimburses u. Never cancel whole order and reorder part of order cause its gonna get made 2x and reasturant has to get paid if its by u or the app which keeps prices high cause there already charging u a higher price than reasturant charges thats how they can offer free delivery cause prices are higher. Contact the app they might charge u or might not but they can cancel just the 2 burgers so u only get the 2. Which u cant once confirmed. Also if u want to add to order reasturant cant do it. Contact the app cause if u just place another order. One ur going to pay for 2nd delievery plus if driver gets there and 1st order ready the app doesnt know and wont have him wait and reasturant has no control like i said they might send 2nd driver for that order so not only do u pay twice for delievery also u get one order 2nd one might come 20 to 30 mins after the 1st order and u have to tip again. So that 8 dollar appetizer u add on not only comes after u finish ur dinner u also dont pay only 8 dollars more u end up paying like 15 dollars more cause of 2nd delivery charge and 2nd tip cause u cant screw the driver who had to go all the way there for just an 8 dollar item its not his fault and he still using his gas and mileage and cant screw 1st driver for not bringing it either. Remember its an app it doesnt know unlike when u call for delivery and speak to a person.

No its a cashless service u can only use cash to tip. Reason is if u paid driver cash they would need away to give cash to all oartys. Thats why u pay thru the app. Ur not even realy paying doordash either. Ur paying a 3rd oarty company. Who than pays everyone. Some goes to doordash some goes to driver and reasturant gets what they get. Doordash tells them who gets what thru the app but third party company handels it just like rideshare. Plus with a company this big run thru an app its one less thing to deal with. There paid for order before they send it to reasturant cause sometimes orders arent deliverable cause no ones home or customer decides to cancel once its confirmed sent to kitchen the reasturant gets paid regardless they made the food. So if they took cash customer could cancel or not be home and than who pays. Customer can still cancel order but there still charged if they cancel after reasturant confirms order sent to kitchen or if they refuse order dont answer door cause changed mind ppl do that stuff and with cash what can they do bout it they be out the money cause they stil have to pay reasturant and driver. This way they guaranteed they get paid and if theres a problem they decide if customer shouldnt be charged and refund them but they decide if reason aceptable cause its coming out there pocket. If customer paid cash and decided themselves it would cost them everytime and customer would then be the ones making the rules wouldnt have to follow policy they agreed to when signing up with app. Dont get me wrong there good bout refunding customers and eatting the cost cause like all big companies cause they want to make customers happy. So they take care of customers and screw drivers just like rideshare apps do. But this way customer cant take advantage either the app keep track of everything so they know if this the 1st time or if u do this all the time not to pay. If they show u always claiming problem and requesting refund they will stop giving it to u or close ur actt. Pretty much its to give them control that they wouldnt have with cash. Plus it makes it easier to disperse the money were it needs to go. Cause it all goes and comes from one place the 3rd party company. Dont have to rely on and wait to recieve cash from drivers which means they dont have to make reasturants wait till they receive the cash and or have to front the money till they recieve it. Plus if u paid cash how would they refund u if issue order was wrong if u pay cash there not going to credit ur card. Like whrn u return clothes if u pay credit they credit ur card it cash they give u cash.

You pay up front and if the driver doesn't deliver it, you could contact customer support. If you are not being honest though, be careful because the app tracks their driver by GPS and can see when they arrive at your location. Fraud will remove you from their app for future orders. You can add your credit card or debit card to the app and they will use that to pay for food. Drivers also prefer tips in cash but you can tip on the app too.

😂 it may. Sometimes the drivers can pick up multiple orders. They have a bag to keep the food warm but not all drivers use that. My food arrives pretty warm but not steaming. Luckily I have a microwave but if you don’t, that could be an issue.

They don't allow cash except when tipping. Food must be prepaid through app.

I’m sure it doesn’t matter as long as you have a receipt but nowhere on their website does DoorDash agree with this. They only mention using your debit card. Try at your own risk.
