I would always opt for closed storage at the front door, except for decorative items and guest coat hooks. Not only would I paint the inside of the pantry and closet bright white, but I would use a high gloss trim paint to make it even easier to keep clean and unscuffed. Definitely use the pantry door for storage, but I think unpackaging stuff to put in jars is a time waster and doesn't solve what to do with the leftovers in the box that don't fit into the jar, or the boxes waiting to be emptied. Behind closed doors, I don't need it to be in a pretty jar as long as it's organized. Packaging is also easier to shift without fear of breaking if something falls. Just me, but I don't like using the floor for storage. I prefer to have a just-above-floor height shelf with a trimmed toe tick. Great to have lights inside the pantry and coat closet. It can even be handy to have an outlet in a closet for charging appliances, etc.. Love the pull out caddy and door storage under the sink. I hang my spray bottles and scrub cloths on hooks inside the doors of my sink so they are too handy to ignore!

Pantry revamp was very good. Pantrys r hard 2 maintain. Cause u want 2 put up ur gro 2 get it done, but if u hsv a good sys in place its not so hard
