Hey man just wanted to let you know your vlogs do inspire me. I have been in the hospital in and out 9 times and watching your vids help me relive these swimming moments before I got so sick. You encourage me to get back to swimming. I hope I will someday!

Out of curiosity, did you get into the weight room??

In February I swam my fastest 100m free long course I’ve done in my 4 years at Uni and for a brief moment I too was disappointed because I didn’t hit the target but then realised my hard work over 4 years had paid off and I had gone faster and I should celebrate that. Sometimes swimmers are so focused on hitting the numbers they forget how great it is to knock any amount of time off your PB 👍🏻

I’m a 11 year old swimmer and your blogs inspire me I watched this before I did my 500(an event i only did once before and hated it ) and I dropped 35 seconds it was awesome I went from 6:33 to 5:59 it was so cool because it was one of my goals to get better at that event so I trained for 2 months(going 6 days a week to a 1 and 1/2 hour practice doing my best and I did so good. I think that shows how far you can get by just setting your mind to something.😁🏊🏻♀️

Hey Cody, I wanted to know your thoughts on whether and how the atmosphere and culture of swimming (and sport in a more general sense) has changed over the years?

I had my first Bad race tonight I thought I was disqualified and I was obviously mad about it but I was happy at the end because I found out I wasn’t disqualified and I got 4th and that I dropped 3.99 seconds so in the long run I learned and found out awesome news! Edit: I swam the 100 breaststroke which is usually is my best event!

Cody I love your vlogs and watch every single on of them but if you want to increase your viewership LET US SEE THE SETS! Everytime you do a workout you skip past or speed up the set so we can't see it. Next time you do a set of say 20 50's pace let us see you actually swim a few of them. Its what we want to see!

Cody I have always been like you in the way that I bounce back. I've been consistently dropping time for years and years, and I've always been happy with that. Recently, I went a best time in the 100 freestyle, a 54.61. I was exuberant. After that best time though, it's like my body kind of gave up. I've only been able to break 55 twice since then, and at my state meet I swam a 57. I feel like I've peaked, even though I know that can't be true and it's all in my head. How do I get over that? I know swimming is a very mental game and requires mental fortitude, but right now I just can't seem to perform under pressure like I used to.
@thajemm43716 жыл бұрын
If you say you peaked, then you have peaked. As Cody said, find out from your coach what you’re doing wrong. Always have a positive attitude in life.
@TheGoat-dp5xy6 жыл бұрын
Hudson Pace maybe your technique changed?
@billyblood11296 жыл бұрын
You definitely haven't peaked yet. The way you get over it is by working harder every day and getting help with you're technique from your coach. Once you get older you'll learn that you need to shave and taper for the big meets and it's actually a very big process to be at your best performance and you can only really have a couple really good meats a season once your training gets harder so I wouldn't be worried.

At what age do you think it is too late to really start swimming. I am going to college next year and probably going to start swimming again. I swam my first 3 years of high school competitively and just did regular high school season my senior year. I am going to start no matter what, just wondering what age you think is the latest.

The fact that after many years of swim, you still have these basics failures means just one: You are not focused on swimming anymore. The present is always the result from the "past" thoughts. So, the poor swimming, means not motivated enough to swim fast. Vlogging is more important. This showed in your dropping from the worlds, and the weak result on the nationals. Lets see this year. And stop bringing this Olympic medal. You are not that person anymore. If you was, you would have won your races. How from 3rd you get so late back in US. Not to mention the swimmers from the rest of the world.
