I love the idea of only using 2 calibers and both weapons take the same cartridge. Those wheel guns and lever gun were beauts. I also love how the majority of your clothing and protection stuff into their own pocket or dry bag I need to look into some of that. You've earned a sub from me keep making great videos. Very informative!

Best choices for bug out weapons I have seen on the tube to date. Most guys want to run around the hills with a tacticool AR15 or M4 and play soldier but with weapons like that you just making yourself a target in a SHTF scenario. The .357 lever action is a rally good hunting rifle and a formidable weapon for self defense.I own a Galil and have a Rossi .357 lever action and if the SHTF I will take the lever action.Packs a much bigger punch and will take Big game up to 200 yards.

I like how you pointed out that it's not the same as a get-home bag. I have kept a "bug-out bag lite". For me, it was spare cloths, a little cash, a few personal hygiene products and some pharmaceuticals, and a ruger MarkII. Now, I maintain a little more sophisticated one, but its almost modular...I have a "get-home" bag and a smaller additional bags for "bug-out" and other situations. I'm working on an INCH kit. Its big. Totally agree on the guns, only I'm Ruger; blackhawk conv. and 77/357.

Great Video! I spent many years traveling in the Amazon Basin. I carried a quart of bleach in my backpack for 2 reasons 1. as a antiseptic & 2. as a water purifier. I used a bandana as a water filter and 7 drops bleach per 5 gallons H2O and never had a problem while people around me were suffering from stomach problems & diarrhea. On another note--I like .22s as part of a bug out scenario and your choice of .357 Mag in pistol and lever gun is also a great selection.

No hood on the jacket, I agree. I remember the first time I had to go to work out in the rain, I sweated so much that I may have well gone without the jacket. I have heard that every game that has ever been hunted has been taken down by a 22. I like the way a 22 fires and I like the way it doesn't make too much noise. If I had to go with one gun, I think I would go for it because of the ammo factor. You can carry so much, for so cheap. $10 backpack, what a steal.

I think this guy is a genius when it comes to packing for a bug out bag. He picks the right equipment and one thing that I thought he should have said was that when you use a 357 you can also load 38 rounds so it allows for two calibers for the handgun giving you a better choice for using a lighter load ammo like 38 instead of 357 and 38 ammo takes up a little bit less space.

As a must for a BOB Might I Recommend a Gerber Concertine wire cutter , I just today received mine and tested it on a few possible obstacles and was amazed at how easy it cut even the thickest chain link fence, also with a bit more effort the steel rod type fencing around inner city train tracks, great to have if you can't go under, over, or around , just go through

I like your set up. You are the first person I've seen actually thinking about not being able to resupply food, or carry all the food you need. I agree that the .22 is the best gun to carry, outside of maybe a muzzleloader. When you run to the end of the 1000 rounds, your gun is useless if civilization has totally collapsed. I'm struggling with that one myself. You'd have to be really accurate in your squirrel hunting, and make that ammo last.

I also love his 2nd option for when his wife brings those instead.

Lord knows thats what i'd like to see in my back yard. I myself live in a small Apt complex of probably 75-100 units..maybe? lol. Anyway, i can count on 25 people that live around me who will try to come together as a community if something happens. Im a phone guy ... a lineman kind not the ones that work in an office. What we use for decades fir bandages is simply a piece of napkin, or paperer towel and a piece of electrical tape ! The .22 is a very lethal round. It is lethal from farther away than you can accurately shoot the round. Even if you dont instantly kill the guy he wont be be around to shoot back. The .22 is known to bounce around inside the body causing a lot of internal damage and has enough power to severly damage organs if it hits them. He also has a semi auto .22 rifle so he can hammer down shot after shot without having to worry about ammo count since you can carry thousands of shots.

Great setup, brother. I completely agree on both the .22s suitability for long-term survival, and the pairing of long and short guns with the same caliber. Oh, and EPIC patience with some of the posts on here. Well done. Man, the number of folks moved to comment negatively just by loaded firearms being depicted in a video along with the sounds of a child, with no further knowledge than that there was one in the house, somewhere, makes me... sad. :(

That's a really good set up. Thanks for the info on the anti-biotics. I've been trying to find something like that. I'd advise against anything that is cotton and wool. I've spent a lot of time hiking the long trail in VT. Started with wool and cotton, ended with damp, dirty and gross. Go with synth materials. Easy to clean and dry, they're lighter and just as comfortable.

Like the bag and guns. I think a sling shot is very good to have. Silent and good for small game, just a bit of a challenge if no lt skilled. Don't want to have to shoot every time you get an animal. I also do archery with recurve, so I want to get a takedown recurve or compact bow. Silent kills, but of course guns are highly practical

I was comparing my 5.56 Galil with a .357. And although the .357 does not have the velocity of the 5.56/.223, the piece of lead that is going to hit you is 180 grain compared to 68 grain. The 5.56 round was designed to wound not kill.In war if you shoot and wound your enemy then effectively you taken out another 2 combatants as they now need to get their wounded buddy to a aid station. but the .357 was designed to send you on to the next life.

I love tactical stuff but its just not practical in a bug out situation. I use lots of the smaller maxpedition pouches to organize and compartmentalize the inside of my bag. i also use a maxpedition vulture II for bush crafting. And a pygmy falcon II for edc... and the list goes on. but not for Bug out.

Cool, I was just stating my stuff, and for I'll take, only a hand gun and a rifle for hunting. In the area I live in, some of the game is a lil bigger than varmint, so I know that a 556 will take down an Elk, Bear, and Deer, and protection, also a handgun in a 9 or 40,stuff that one can get ammo for easily, and as I stated, what works for you and your area, and you found what works for you, and I'm not trying to argue with you, I just answered your questions to me.Have a good one.

good video, seems to me that ppl didn't really pay attention to it. saw ur med items& hygiene items...yes you could add a bit more...tooth brush, paste. I would also invest in some super glue& a sponge, bandanna. Small items can be in one bag or pocket and tied in using some strands of cord. u convinced me into looking into a 22. I don't like to mismatch rounds and I like less weight. but also depending on ur location you need a heavy hitter, as you have one. once again good vid and info! cheers
