Been using the basic rod bands for 7 yrs as long as you wrap the band firm enough around the tip all is safe i carry 3 feeder rod never had a tip break yet,Dellboy

Nice video I tend to put a small elastic band now where the thinner tip is and then put the protector on afterwards. I think I just keeps the tip from moving up which then could lead to a tip break.

Still making the tip sections big enough to hold 2 or 3 butt sections, why is that? You do know the tip of a rod and the spigot combined are about 10mm in diameter.

I can't find an answer to my question maybe you can please : WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I LEAVE MY 2 PIECE RODS TOGETHER? AND NOT SEPARATE THEM ?? ( 6'9 TO 7'7 FEET SWIMBAIT RODS) . Are we supposed to always separate the 2 pieces after a fishing trip ?

You don't have to take them apart, however it would be very difficult to transport 9, 10 & 11ft two piece rods without taking them apart.

Brilliant bits of kit. Use them on all my rods now including 3 piece rods albeit they are a bit more of a faff to break down. Personally I break the quiver tip down too to stop it forming a slight curve in the tip when stored which can happen over time. This is especially so if the Quiver tip section is slightly longer than the butt section when broken down unlike the one Des was demonstrating here.
