What I find to be the most efficient way of packing is to cut each piece of clothing into rectangles the size of your luggage, lay them down, and stack them up. Pack a needle and thread to sew them back together when you unpack. I can fit about 20 shirts, 10 pairs of pants, and 30 pairs of socks into a standard carry-on suitcase.

you can make it even more compact by rolling a tshirt with a boxers and pair of socks into 1, boxers go on the tshirt you roll them up with the socks place on the top, when it's rolled up you can cover the rolled tshirt with your socks

As a person who travels a lot for business, there's no way I'd fold clothes like that. It's space efficient, but it's way too time consuming - both the packing and the unpacking since you're going to have to iron everything. I just don't have time for it.

I didn't realise this wasn't how everyone packed. I grew up packing like this, even at school before we went on camps this was how it was taught. Hi from Australia. and I use hairbands as they don't rub on or ruin the fabric, or if it gets hot it won't leave a sticky mark.

Ranger rolling is the best way of folding, which he is doing. It doesn't ruin the clothes at all and you do not have to iron at all when you decide to wear the clothing item

The plastic band is overkilling it. It would stay rolled up when you place it snugly and in placed. What we also need to consider is that the more we roll the garment, the more unwanted folds it gets. So the idea is to balance everything.

I have to pack like this when I'm traveling by motorcycle. The one thing I learned was not to pack jeans, they are heavy and take up too much space, I only bring the ones I ride in with. I pack lighter weight pants instead and roll them up to use up less space and reduce weight on my back.

awesome guidetips: you should put the socks on the t-shirt insted of a elastic, this way you will make sure to have clean socks. also put a underwear on the t-shit, to always have one clean.
