How to paint a Beautiful Hummingbird and Loose Hibiscus Flowers in Watercolor - Realtime Tutorial

I think if we did a poll on the most popular bird to paint, and the best-loved visitor to summer gardens, the hummingbird would be a strong contender. Although we don't have these cute little people in Europe where I live, I do remember them from time spent in the Caribbean and Florida, so it's always fun to have a go at capturing the liveliness and jewel-like colours of the hummingbird in watercolor.

Diane, I have seen numerous hummingbird paintings over the years, but yours is my absolute favorite! This little hummer is so beautiful and watching you paint with your delicate strokes and mindful style takes me to a place of deep tranquility. I've never seen anyone paint hibiscus flowers this way and you make it look so achievable. When you mentioned you weren't talking as much because you needed greater concentration, I understood exactly. I was pretty focused on your creative brush strokes and the gentle music in the background did the talking for you.
